Answer:

C

Explanation:

An oxyanion is an anion containing oxygen.

It should contain O and contain net negative charge on the anion.

The only option satisfying is C.

Most elements can form oxyanions, meeting the conditions of the octet rule.

A 15.0-L rigid container was charged with 0.500 atm of kryp‑ ton gas and 1.50 atm of chlorine gas at 350.8C. The krypton and chl
Alecsey [184]

Answer: 32.94 g

Explanation: It's stoichiometry problem so balanced equation is required. The balanced equation is given below:

Kr+2Cl_2\rightarrow KrCl_4

From the balanced equation, krypton and chlorine react in 1:2 mol ratio. We will calculate the moles of each reactant gas using ideal gas law equation(PV = nRT) and then using mol ratio the limiting reactant is figured out that helps to calculate the amount of the product formed.

for Krypton, P = 0.500 atm and for chlorine, P = 1.50 atm

V = 15.0 L

T = 350.8 + 273 = 623.8 K

For krypton, n=\frac{0.500*15.0}{0.0821*623.8}

n = 0.146 moles

for chlorine, n=\frac{1.50*15.0}{0.0821*623.8}

n = 0.439

From the mole ratio, 1 mol of krypton reacts with 2 moles of chlorine. So 0.146 moles of krypton will react with 2 x 0.146 = 0.292 moles of chlorine.

Since 0.439 moles of chlorine are available, it is present in excess and hence the limiting reactant is krypton.

So, the amount of product formed is calculated from moles of krypton.

Molar mass of krypton tetrachloride is 225.61 gram per mol.

There is 1:1 mol ratio between krypton and krypton tetrachloride.

0.146molKr(\frac{1molKrCl_4}{molKr})(\frac{225.61gKrCl_4}{1molKrCl_4})

= 32.94 g of KrCl_4

So, 32.94 g of the product will form.

What is the sequence of energy transformations that occur in a nuclear reactor? nuclear energy Right arrow. Mechanical energy Ri
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

NUCLEAR ENERGY -----> MECHANICAL ENERGY -------> THERMAL ENERGY --------> ELECTRICAL ENERGY

Explanation:

In nuclear reactor, various energy transformations occur in order to generate electricity. Nuclear reactor converts the energy released from nuclear fission and the heat generated is removed from the reactor by a cooling system where steam is generated. The steam then drives a turbine which powers a generator to produce electricity.

A nuclear reactor is hence an equipment where nuclear chain reactions occur and control can be obtained. The nuclear reactor uses mostly uranium-235 and Plutonium-239. When these radioactive substances absorbs neutrons, they undergo nuclear fission causing the nucleus to split into two or more smaller compounds with  the release of kinetic energy a form of mechanical energy, gamma radiations and others.The kinetic energy is then harnessed in the equipment as heat (thermal energy) which is received by a cooling system and steam is generated. The steam can then power the generator from which electricity is obtained (electrical energy).

So therefore, in a nuclear reactor, the nuclear energy is transformed to mechanical energy and then thermal energy which powers the generation of the electrical energy.

Suppose you are studying the K sp of K C l O 3 , which has a molar mass of 122.5 g/mol, at multiple temperatures. You dissolve 4
Ghella [55]

Answer:

The K sp Value is  K_{sp}=7.40

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The of KClO_3 is = 122.5 g/ mol

    The mass of KClO_3 dissolved is m_s = 4.0g

    The volume of solution is  V_s = 12mL = 12*10^{-3}L

The number of moles of KClO_3 is mathematically evaluated as

           No \ of  \ moles  \ = \frac{mass }{Molar \ mass}

Substituting values

                                  = \frac{4}{122.5}

                                  =0.0327\ moles

Generally concentration is mathematically represented as

         concentration = \frac{No \ of \ moles}{volume }

For KClO_3

               Z= \frac{0.0327}{12*10^{-3}}

                              =2.72 \ mol/L

The dissociation reaction of KClO_3  is

         KClO_3 \ ----> K^{+}_{(aq)} + ClO_3^-_{(aq)}

The solubility product constant is mathematically represented as

                   K_{sp} = \frac{concentration of ionic product }{concentration of ionic reactant }

Since there is no ionic reactant we have

                  K_{sp} = [k^+] [ClO_3^-]

                          = Z^2

                          = 2.72^2

                          K_{sp}=7.40

A stack of 10 pennies weighing 26.55 grams is placed in a graduated cylinder containing water. The initial volume of water is 50
BigorU [14]
In order to determine the density of an item, we will need to determine its mass and volume. The standard unit for measuring mass in a lab is the gram. Think about liquids- what units do you typically report the volume of a liquid in? What about for a sugar cube, what volume is the most appropriate?
A regular object like a sugar cube can be measured with a ruler so we might report the volume in centimeters cubed (cm3). An irregular object like the plate pictured below can be measured by using a technique called volume by displacement. A liquid (typically water) is placed in a graduated cylinder and the volume of a liquid is measured. Then the irregular object is placed in the liquid and the volume is measured again. The change in volume is the irregular object’s volume. This measurement is often made using a graduated cylinder and recording a volume in Liters or milliliters (mL).
