Air pressure decreases at a rate of 2.5 pascals per kilometer in the eastward direction. In addition, the air pressure is increa

sing at a constant rate with respect to time everywhere. A ship sailing eastward at 8 km/hour past an island takes barometer readings and records a pressure drop of 30 pascals in 2 hours. Estimate the time rate of change of air pressure on the island. (A pascal is a unit of air pressure.)

Answer:

5 Pa/h

Explanation:

The problem tell us that as air pressure decreases with distance, it also increases with time at a constant rate. Therefore, we have to determine in first place, what would be the decrease of air pressure due to distance:

d: total route of the ship in 2 hours

d=\frac{8km}{h} *2h=16 km

D: total decrease of pressure due to distance in 2 hours

D=16km*\frac{2.5Pa}{km} =40 Pa

However, the problem states that the barometer records a pressure drop of 30 pascals in 2 hours. That means, that the rate of air pressure increase due to air, could be determined as follows:

R: time rate of change of air pressure

R=\frac{40Pa}{2h} -\frac{30Pa}{2h}\\R=\frac{20Pa}{h} -\frac{15Pa}{h}\\R=5 \frac{Pa}{h}

Then, despite the decrease of air pressure due to distance, the increase due to time makes lower the drop.

A rigid, uniform bar with mass mmm and length bbb rotates about the axis passing through the midpoint of the bar perpendicular t
Pie

Answer:

I = \frac{mvb}{6}

Explanation:

we know angular velocity in terms of moment of inertia and angular speed

       L = Iω ....                        (1)

moment of inertia of rod rotating about its center of length b

      I = \frac{ mb^2}{12}  ........               .(2)

using         v = ωr

where w is angular velocity

and r is radius of  rod which is equal to b

        so we get  2v =  ωb

                            ω  = 2v/b  .................            (3)

here velocity is two time because two opposite ends  are moving opposite with a velocity v so net velocity will be 2v

put second and third equation in ist equation

                 L   =   \frac{mb^2}{12}×\frac{2v}{b}

              so final answer will be      L  =   \frac{mvb}{6}

lbvjy [14]

Answer:

T= 354.65 N

Explanation:

Given that

ρ= 7800 kg/m³

L= 58 cm

d=1.34 mm

f= 311 Hz

T= Tension

Speed of wave ,V

V = f λ

V = f L

V= 311 x 0.58 m/s

V=180.38 m/s

Area of cross sectional

A= πr² mm²

A= 3.14 x 0.67² mm²

A=1.41 mm²

Mass = Density x Volume

m=7800\times 1.41\times 10^{-6}\ kg/m

m=0.0109 kg/m

Tension ,T

T=m V^2

T= 0.0109 x 180.38² N

T= 354.65 N

Actually Welcome to the concept of Efficiency.

Here we can see that, the Input work is given as 2.2 x 10^7 J and the efficiency is given as 22%

The efficiency is => 22% => 22/100.

so we get as,

E = W(output) /W(input)

hence, W(output) = E x W(input)

so we get as,

W(output) = (22/100) x 2.2 x 10^7

=> W(output) = 0.22 x 2.2 x 10^7 => 0.484 x 10^7

hence, W(output) = 4.84 x 10^6 J

The useful work done on the mass is 4.84 x 10^6 J
