Answer:

Percentage yield = 27.8 %

Explanation:

Given data:

Volume of lithium hydroxide = 25.0 cm³ (0.025 dm³)

Concentration of lithium hydroxide =M= 2.48 mol/dm³

Actual yield of hydrated lithium sulfate = 2.20 g

Percentage yield = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

2LiOH + H₂SO₄ → Li₂SO₄.2H₂O

Moles of lithium hydroxide:

Molarity =  moles/ volume of solution

2.48 mol/dm³ = moles / 0.025 dm³

moles = 2.48 mol/dm³ × 0.025 dm³

moles = 0.062 mol

Now we compare the moles of hydrated lithium sulfate with lithium hydroxide:

  LiOH         :    Li₂SO₄.2H₂O

      1            :        1

     0.062   :       0.062

Mass of Li₂SO₄.2H₂O:

Mass = moles × molar mass

Mass = 0.062 mol × 128 g/mol

Mass =  7.9 g

Percentage yield:

Percentage yield = actual yield / theoretical yield × 100

Percentage yield = 2.20 g/ 7.9 g × 100

Percentage yield = 27.8 %

There are ________ hydrogen atoms in 25 molecules of c4h4s2.
coldgirl [10]

Answer: 100.

Explanation:

1) The subscripts to the right of each element (symbol) in the chemical formula tells the number of atoms of that element present in one unit formula.

2) The unit formula of C₄H₄S₂ is equal to 1 molecule.

3) Therefore, there are 4 carbon atoms, 4 hydrogen atoms and 2 sulfur atoms in each molecule of C₄H₄S₂.

4) Then, you just have to multiply the corresponding subscript of the element times the number of molecules (25 in this case) to find the number of atoms of that kind.

5) These are the calculations for each element in the molecule C₄H₄S₂.

i) C: 4 × 25 = 100

ii) H: 4 × 25 = 100

iii) S: 2 × 25 = 50.

6) The question is about H only, so the answer is that there are 100 hydrogen atoms in 25 molecules of C₄H₄S₂.

The beta oxidation pathway degrades activated fatty acids (acyl-CoA) to acetyl-CoA, which then enters the citric acid cycle. Add
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

The correct statements are given below

Explanation:

b Enoyl CoA isomerase an enzyme that converts cis double bonds to trans double bonds in fatty acid metabolism,bypasses a step that reduces Q,resulting in the higher ATP yield.

c Even chain fatty acids are oxidized to acetyl CoA in the beta oxidation pathway.

f The final round of beta oxidation foe a 13 carbon saturated fatty acid yields acetyl CoA and propionyl CoA a three carbon fragment.

In a certain city, electricity costs $0.17 per kW·h. What is the annual cost for electricity to power a lamp-post for 5.50 hours
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

(a) = $34.123

(b) = $8.532

(c) Additional cost of fluorescent bulb is justified

Explanation:

Cost of electricity = $0.17 per kW·h

(a) For a 100 watt bulb which is the same as 100/1000 or 0.1 kW, the cost per hour =

0.1 × 0.17 = $0.017/h

and for 5.5 hours = 0.017×5.5 = $0.0935

The annual cost, which is 365 days, we have

Annual cost = $0.0935 × 365 = $34.123

(b) For the energy efficient 25-watt bulb, we have

25/1000 = 0.025kW

Power cost per annum =

0.025kW×$0.17 per kW·h×5.5×365 = $8.532

(c) Total cost of incandescent bulb = $0.89 total cost of using the incandescent bulb is $34.123 + $0.89 = $35.02

Total cost of using the energy efficient fluorescent bulb is about $3.49

Total cost of using the energy efficient bulb = $8.532 + $3.49 = $12.02

Total cost of incandescent bulb = $35.02 while total cost of energy efficient bulb is = $12.02

$12.02 <$35.02

Additional cost of fluorescent bulb is justified
