1. log {10 (1/100) } = log {1/10} = -1

2. log {10 (1/10)} = lg {1} = 0

3. log {10 (1)} = lg (10) = 1

4. log {10 (10)} = log {100} = 2

5. log {10 (100)} = log{1000} = 3

The non-algebraic functions are called transcendental functions. This include the logarithmic function. The definition of Logarithmic Function with Base a is as follows:

For \ x\ \textgreater \ 0, \ a \ \textgreater \ 0, \ and \ a \neq 1 \\ \\ y=log_{a}x \ if \ and \ only \ if \ x=a^{y} \\ \\ Then: \\ \\ f(x)=log_{a}x \\ \\ is \ called \ the \ logarithmic \ function \ with \ base \ a.

We know that the equations is:

y=log(10x)

So let's solve each case:

Case 1

x=\frac{1}{100} \\ \\ y=log(10(\frac{1}{100})) \\ \\ \therefore y=log(\frac{1}{10}) \\ \\ \therefore y=-1 \\ \\ So: \\ \\ \boxed{\ x=\frac{1}{100}} \ matches \ to \ \boxed{y=-1}

Case 2

x=\frac{1}{10} \\ \\ y=log(10(\frac{1}{10})) \\ \\ \therefore y=log(1) \\ \\ \therefore y=0 \\ \\ So: \\ \\ \boxed{\ x=\frac{1}{10}} \ matches \ to \ \boxed{y=0}

Case 3

x=1 \\ \\ y=log(10(1)) \\ \\ \therefore y=log(10) \\ \\ \therefore y=1 \\ \\ So: \\ \\ \boxed{\ x=1} \ matches \ to \ \boxed{y=1}

Case 4

x=10 \\ \\ y=log(10(10)) \\ \\ \therefore y=log(100) \\ \\ \therefore y=2 \\ \\ So: \\ \\ \boxed{\ x=10} \ matches \ to \ \boxed{y=2}

Case 5

x=100 \\ \\ y=log(10(100)) \\ \\ \therefore y=log(1000) \\ \\ \therefore y=3 \\ \\ So: \\ \\ \boxed{x=100} \ matches \ to \ \boxed{y=3}

A portion of a hiking trail slopes upward at about a 6 angle. To the nearest tenth of a foot, what is the value of x, the distan
Firdavs [7]
The distance covered by the hiker if he traveled a horizontal distance of 120 ft at and angle of 6° will be given by:
cos θ=adjacent/hypotenuse
let the hypotenuse be h, adjacent =120 ft, θ=6°, thus plugging in the values we shall have:
cos 6=120/h
h=120/cos 6
h=120.661 ft
Answer: 120.661 ft

The equation r = 6t gives the number of albums released, r, by a record label over time in years, t. If you graph this relations
GalinKa [24]
R = 6t.....subbing in (8,48).....t = 8 and r = 48
48 = 6(8)
48 = 48 (correct)

r = 6t...subbing in (13,78)...t = 13 and r = 78
78 = 6(13)
78 = 78 (correct)

so u have 2 sets of points on this line and they are (8,48) and (13,78)

(14.14) larry reads that 1 out of 6 eggs contains salmonella bacteria. so he never uses more than 5 eggs in cooking. if eggs do
melomori [17]

we know that

The probability that "at least one" is the probability of exactly one, exactly 2, exactly 3, 4 and 5 contain salmonella.

The easiest way to solve this is to recognise that "at least one" is ALL 100% of the possibilities EXCEPT that none have salmonella.

If the probability that any one egg has 1/6 chance of salmonella

then

the probability that any one egg will not have salmonella = 5/6.

Therefore

for all 5 to not have salmonella

= (5/6)^5 = 3125 / 7776

= 0.401877 = 0.40 to 2 decimal places

REMEMBER this is the probability that NONE have salmonella

Therefore

the probability that at least one does = 1 - 0.40

= 0.60

the answer is

0.60 or 60%

If ∆ABC and ∆GEF are congruent, the value of x is___? and the value of y is ___?
attashe74 [19]

<u>Answer-</u>

<em>The value of y is </em><em>6 units</em><em>.</em>

<u>Solution-</u>

Given ∆ABC ≅ ∆GEF

If two triangles are congruent, then the corresponding sides are also congruent.

So,

EF = BC, GF = AC

Putting the values,

\Rightarrow x-y=4 --------------1

\Rightarrow x-8=2

\Rightarrow x=10 --------------------2

Putting the values of x in equation 1,

\Rightarrow 10-y=4

\Rightarrow y=10-4=6

Therefore, the value of y is 6 units.

Victoria has a 2 pound package of flour. She uses 2/5 of the flour to make pizza. She then uses 3/10 of the remaining flour to m
timama [110]
One pound= 16 ounces

2 x 16 = 32 ounces = 2 pounds

2/5 can also be expressed in decimal form as .4

so 32 x .4 = 12.8

and then 3/10 also is .3

so 32 x .3 = 9.6

add the two 12.8 + 9.6 = 22.4
