The given question is incomplete. The complete question is as follows.

Which of the following changes to a voltaic cell of the general form

X+ + Y ->X + Y+  would cause an increase in potential? (more positive Ecell)

a. An increase in active ion concentration at the cathode.

b. An increase in active ion concentration at the anode.

c. An increase in temperature where K/Q > 1

d. An increase in temperature where K/Q < 1

Explanation:

In an electrochemical cell, the potential difference present within the two half cells is known as cell potential.

Formula for cell potential according to Nernst equation is as follows.

      E^{o}_{cell} = E^{o} - \frac{2.303RT}{nF} log (\frac{\text{Anodic ion conc.}}{\text{Cathodic ion conc.}})

So, more is the ion concentration at the cathode smaller will be the value deducted from E^{o}. Hence, more positive the value of E^{o}_{cell} comes out.

Potential of a cell will increase under following conditions:

Whenever at the cathode there will occur an increase in concentration of active ion then there will also occur an increase in cell potential.

When the ratio of K is to Q (that is, \frac{K}{Q}) is greater than 1 then there will occur an increase in the cell potential.

Thus, we can conclude that following changes will lead to an increase in cell potential:

  • An increase in temperature where K/Q > 1
  • An increase in active ion concentration at the cathode.

A person weighing 0.70 kn rides in an elevator that has an upward acceleration of 1.5 m/s2. what is the magnitude of the normal
creativ13 [48]
First of all, we can find the mass of the person, since we know his weight W:
W=mg=0.70 kN=700 N
And so
m= \frac{W}{g}= \frac{700 N}{9.81 m/s^2}=71.4 kg

We know for Newton's second law that the resultant of the forces acting on the person must be equal to the product between the mass and the acceleration a of the person itself:
\sum F =  ma
There are only two forces acting on the person: his weight W (downward) and the vincular reaction Rv of the floor against the body (upward). So we can rewrite the previous equation as
R_v -W = ma
We know the acceleration of the system, a=1.5 m/s^2 (upward, so with same sign of Rv), so we can solve to find the value of Rv, the normal force exerted by the elevator's floor on the person:
R_v = ma+W=(71.4 kg)(1.5 m/s^2)+700 N =807N

La altura de un tornillo de banco respecto a la superficie es de 80 cm expresar dicha medida en pies..
Andrej [43]

Answer:

this measurement if feet is: 2.624672 ft

Explanation:

Notice that 80 cm can be expressed as 0.8 meters, and In order to convert from meters to feet, one needs to multiply the meter measurement times 3.28084. Therefore:

0.80 m can be written in feet as: 0.80 * 3.28084 feet = 2.624672 feet

A sister spins her brother in a circle of radius R at angular speed wi. Then the sister decreases her angular speed
Igoryamba

Answer:

The change in the centripetal acceleration of the brother,

                               Δa = V₂²/R - V₁²/R

Explanation:

Given data,

A sister spins her brother in a circle of radius, R

The angular velocity of the brother, ω₁ = V₁/R

The angular velocity of the brother, ω₂ = V₂/R

The centripetal acceleration is given by the relation

                                 a = V²/R

Therefore change in the centripetal acceleration of the brother,

                              Δa = V₂²/R - V₁²/R

You have two lightweight metal spheres, each hanging from an insulating nylon thread. One of the spheres has a net negative char
kkurt [141]

Answer:attract each other

Explanation:

When two-sphere, one with a negative charge and another neutral is brought close together but do not touch then they try to attract each other.

This because of the polarization of the neutral sphere as it is placed in the vicinity of a negatively charged sphere. The negatively charged sphere will induce the positive charge in the neutral sphere and they will attract each other according to Columb law.
