Newton's law of cooling states that the rate of change of temperature of an object in a surrounding medium is proportional to th

e difference of the temperature of the medium and the temperature of the object. Suppose a metal bar, initially at temperature 60 degrees Celsius, is placed in a room which is held at the constant temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. One minute later the bar has cooled to 30.54947 degrees.
Write the differential equation that models the temperature in the bar (in degrees Celsius) as a function of time (in minutes).

Hint: You will need to find the constant of proportionality. Start by calling the constant k and solving the initial value problem to obtain the temperature as a function of k and t. Then use the observed temperature after one minute to solve for k .

Answer:

Check the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The differential equation governing the given situation is,

\frac{dT}{dt}=-k\left ( T-T_s \right )

Integrating the above we get,

=>\int \frac{\mathrm{d}T }{T-T_s}=\int -kdt

=>\ln(T-T_s)=-kt+C

At t=0 T=T0, applying this condition in the above equation we get

=>T(t)-T_s=(T(0)-T_s)e^{-kt}

It is given that it takes 1 minute for the temperature to fall from 30 to 10.99574 with T(t)=10.99574, T(0)=30 and Ts=10

=>10.99574-10=(30-10)e^{-kt}

=>0.99574=20e^{-kt}

=>e^{kt}=\frac{20}{0.99574}

=>e^{k\times 1}=\frac{20}{0.99574}

=>k=\ln\frac{20}{0.99574}=3

which is a pair of dependent events? spinning a spinner one time and then spinning it a second time flipping a quarter and then
Sphinxa [80]
<h2><u>Answer and explanation:</u></h2>

Two events are said to be dependent on each other, if the outcome of the first thing affects the outcome of the second thing in such a way that the probability changes.

Here, the right answer will be = removing a marble from a bag, not putting it back, and then removing a second marble.

Explanation:

Lets suppose there were 10 marbles in the bag at the first place. Now, you removed one marble and did not put it back. So, remaining marbles will be 9. Now, if again you choose a marble, you have 9 marbles to choose from. We can see that probability changes with the event that occurred at first place.

So, this is the right answer.

Rest options are simultaneous one. They are not dependent in any way.

Matteo is adjusting a satellite because he finds it is not focusing the incoming radio waves perfectly. The shape of his satelli
natka813 [3]

Answer: (1.5, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The shape of his satellite can be modeled by y^2=6x where x and y are modeled in inches.

Now,the given equation y^2=6x is a equation of parabola.

Here, coefficient of x is positive, hence the parabola opens rightwards.

On comparing this equation with standard equation x^2=4mx, we get

4m=6\\\Rightarrow\ m=\frac{6}{4}=1.5

In standard equation, coordinates of focus=(m,0)

Thus for given equation coordinates of focus=(1.5,0)

Its depends on how many times you score during the game

in second game the number of points increases  as a geometric sequence
with common ratio 2

so for example if you score ten times in first game you get 2000 points

if you score 10 times in Game 2 you score   2 * (2^10) - 1  =  2046 points

so playing 10 or more games  is best with Game 2.  Any less plays favours gane 1.
