1) Based on the data for Potassium chloride and Potassium chlorate, the temperature at which the solutions were saturated can be compared to the solubility curve to tell which compound is the unknown.

2) The Collision Theory states than the frequency of collisions between molecules greatly affect how the molecules behave in a solution or even in reactions.

At what temperature would the volume of a gas be 0.550 L if it had a volume of 0.432 L at –20.0 o C?
Gnom [1K]
The temperature that  would  the volume of a gas  be 0.550l  if  it  had a volume of 0.432 L  at  -20.0  c is calculated  using the Charles law formula

that is   v1/T1=V2/T2
V1=0.550 l
t1=?
T2= -20 c +273 = 253 K
v2= 0.432 l

by  making T1  the subject of the formula  T1= V1T2/V2

T1=  (0.55lL x253)/  0.432 l = 322.11 K  or  322.11-273 = 49.11 C

State whether each of the following will be more soluble in water or hexane i. Butane ii. Ch3cooh iii. K2so4
ioda

Explanation:

Solubility is determined by the principle , "like dissolves like" .

i.e. , if a compound is polar then it will dissolve in a polar compound only , and

if a compound is non - polar then it will dissolve in a non - polar compound only .

Hence , from the question ,

Water is a polar molecule , and hence it will dissolve only the polar molecule , i.e. , from the given options the polar molecule is , iii. K₂SO₄

Hexane , is a non - polar molecules ,  hence it will dissolve only the non polar molecule , i.e. , from the given options the non polar molecule is i. Butane .

Think of an everyday situation in which two objects interact and exert a force on each other. Explain how the interaction can ca
blondinia [14]

Answer:

It's explained below.

Explanation:

An everyday situation is when we raise an object.

Now, when we raise an object, energy is transferred to the Earth object system and thus the gravitational field energy of the system will increase.

Now, this energy is usually released when the object falls. The mechanism of this release is known as gravitational force.

In the same manner, two magnetic and electrically charged objects that are interacting at a distance will exert forces on each other and this can lead to transfer of energy between the interacting objects.
