100 random samples were taken from a large population. A particular numerical characteristic of sampled items was measured. The

results of the measurements were as follows: 45 measurements were between 0.859 and 0.900 0.901 was observed once 0.902 was observed three times 0.903 was observed twice 0.904 was observed four times The smallest value was 0.859, and the largest value was 0.958. The sum of all 100 measurements was 91.170. Except those noted, no measurements occurred more than twice. What is the median of the measurements

Answer:

The median is Median = 0.903

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The sample size is n =  100

   The  1^{st} \to 45^{th} measurements is  =  0.859 \to   0.900

    Generally since that after 0.900 we have  0.901 , then the

     46^{th} \  measurement \  is  \  0.901

in the same manner the  47^{th} \  measurement \  is  \  0.902,

Given that 0.902  was observed three times it means that

                                         47^{th},48^{th},49^{th}  \  measurement \  is  \  0.902,

Given that 0.903  was observed two times it means that

                                          50^{th},51^{th} \  measurement \  is  \  0.903,

Given that 0.903  was observed four times it means that

                                         52^{nd},53^{rd},54^{th},55^{th} \  measurement \  is  \  0.904,

Given that the highest measurement is  0.958 then then the  56^{th} \to  100^{th} \  measurement \  is  \  between \  0.905 \to 0.958

Generally the median is is mathematically represented as

            Median  =  \frac{ [\frac{n^{th}}{2}]  + [(\frac{n}{2})^{th} + 1 ]}{2}

=>        Median  =  \frac{ [\frac{100^{th}}{2}]  + [(\frac{100}{2})^{th} + 1 ]}{2}

=>        Median  =  \frac{ [50^{th}]  + [51^{th} ]}{2}

=>        Median  =  \frac{ 0.903 + 0.903}{2}

=>        Median  =  0.903

The cost for a different taxi company is expressed with the equation y = 1.65x + 2.35, where x represents the miles driven and y

To solve this, all you have to do is plug in the 14 where the x value is:
y=1.65(14) +2.35 which equals 25.45

a barangay has 1000 individuals and its population doubles every 60 years. Give an exponential model for the barangay's populati
sdas [7]

Answer:

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the population of barangay be expressed according to the exponential formula;

P(t) = P0e^kt

P(t) is the population of the country after t years

P0 is the initial population

t is the time

If barangay has 1000 initially, this means that P0 = 1000

If the population doubles after 60years then;

at t = 60, P(t) = 2P0

Substitute into the formula

2P0 = P0e^k(60)

2 = e^60k

Apply ln to both sides

ln2 = lne^60k

ln2 = 60k

k = ln2/60

k = 0.01155

Substitute k = 0.01155 and P0 into the expression

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

Hence an exponential model for barangay's population is

P(t) = 1000e^(0.01155)t

According to a human modeling project, the distribution of foot lengths of women is approximately Normal with a mean of 23.3 ce
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

26.11% of women in the United States will wear a size 6 or smaller

Step-by-step explanation:

Problems of normally distributed samples are solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 23.3, \sigma = 1.4

In the United States, a woman's shoe size of 6 fits feet that are 22.4 centimeters long. What percentage of women in the United States will wear a size 6 or smaller?

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 22.4. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{22.4 - 23.3}{1.4}

Z = -0.64

Z = -0.64 has a pvalue of 0.2611

26.11% of women in the United States will wear a size 6 or smaller

At a zoo, youth tickets cost $5 and adult tickets cost $9. A group that purchased x youth tickets and y adult tickets spent $90
notka56 [123]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of youth tickets purchased at the zoo.

Let y represent the number of adult tickets purchased at the zoo.

At the zoo, youth tickets cost $5 and adult tickets cost $9. A group spent a total of $90 on tickets. This means that

5x + 9y = 90

The domain of the relationship is the possible set of values of x and y that satisfies the equation. The domain of this relationship is

0 ≤ x ≤ 18

At x = 0, it means only adult tickets were purchased.

At x = 18, it means only youth tickets were purchased.
