Answer:

1) τ = I α    whereby the torque is provided by the angular acceleration

2)  L = 216 Kg m² / s

Explanation:

1) Let's start with Newton's second law

       F = m a

multiply by the arm or perpendicular distance

       F r = m a r

if the distance is not perpendicular a way of realizing the relations using the vector product

      τ = F r = F x r

the bold are vectors.  The angular and linear acceleration are related

       a = α r=

      τ = m (α r) r

      τ = (m r²) α

the inertia of the rotational motion is

        I = m r²

we substitute

       τ = I α

whereby the torque is provided by the angular acceleration.

As an example we have:

* a spinning disk

* a ball rotating in the air

* a pulley

2) The rotational momentum is

           L = I w

the moment of inertia of a rod that through its center

           I = m L²

we substitute

           L = m L² w

let's calculate

          L = 6 1.5 2 16

          L = 216 Kg m² / s

Which biome contains mostly coniferous trees and receives 35 to 100 cm of rain per year?
a_sh-v [17]

The question is incomplete as it does not have the options which are:

deciduous forest

taiga (boreal forest)

temperate rainforest

tropical rainforest

Answer:

Taiga (boreal forest)

Explanation:

A Biome refers to the habitat which is occupied by flora and fauna living in similar conditions.  These biomes are distinguished based on many features like precipitation, temperature and many other physical factors.

In the given question, the biome which receives an annual rainfall of 35 to 100 cm annually and is mostly covered by the coniferous trees is known as "Taiga biome" which is also known as Boreal forest.

The Taiga biome is one of the largest terrestrial biomes which is present in Eurasia and North America. The biome is characterised by the conifers trees and therefore is also known as the Coniferous trees.

Thus, Taiga (boreal forest) is the correct answer.

A 60 kg student in a rowboat on a still lake decides to dive off the back of the boat. The studen'ts horizontal aceleration is 2
TiliK225 [7]
As per the third law of Newton, the force exerted by the boat over the student is equal in magnitude to the force that the student exerted on the boat.

So, calculate the force on the student using the second law of Newton, Force = mass * acceleration.

Force on the student = 60 kg * 2.0 m/s^2 = 120 N.

=> horizontal force exerted by the student on the boat = 120 N

Answer: option d. 120 N. toward the back of the boat.

Of course it is toward the back because that is where the student jumped from..

Given that an electric field of 3×106V/m3×106V/m is required to produce an electrical spark within a volume of air, estimate the
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

Length, l = 33.4 m

Explanation:

Given that,

Electrical field, E=3\times 10^6\ V/m

Let the electrical potential is, V=10^8\ V

We need to find the length of a thundercloud lightning bolt. The relation between electric field and the electric potential is given by :

V=E\times d\\\\d=\dfrac{V}{E}\\\\d=\dfrac{10^8}{3\times 10^6}\\\\d=33.4\ m

So, the length of a thundercloud lightning bolt is 33.4 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.

Consider a wave along the length of a stretched slinky toy, where the distance between coils increases and decreases. What type
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

"Longitudinal wave" is the appropriate answer.

Explanation:

  • Generating waves whenever the form of communication being displaced in a similar direction as well as in the reverse way of the wave's designated points, could be determined as Longitudinal waves.
  • A wave running the length of something like a Slinky stuffed animal, which expands as well as reduces the spacing across spindles, produces a fine image or graphic.
