The Lynx pay their four running backs $1 million, $850,000, $750,000, and $500,000. If the team salary is $33 million a year, wh

The total of the running backs' salaries need to be added together first. So, $1 000 000 + $850 000 + $750 000 + $500 000 = $3 100 000. Now we divide the total number of salaries by the running back salaries: $3 100 000/$33 000 000 = 0.094 x 100 = 9.4 %.
Round off to nearest percent = 9.00 %.

12. A cyclist travels 40 km at a speed of x km/h. Find the time
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

distance = rate times time, so

           distance

time = --------------

               rate

Here the distance is 40 km and the rate is x.  Then

              40 km

time = --------------  =  (40/x) hr

             x km/hr

If the speed is reduced by 2 km/hr, we get:

              40 km                                            40 km                  40

time = -------------------------------  or time = ----------------------- = --------- hr

             (x km/hr - 2 km/hr)                      (x - 2) (km/hr)       x - 2

The difference between the times is:

 40          40

-------- - --------- = 1 hr          Solve this for the original speed, x

x - 2         x

40x - 40x + 80                                80

-----------------------  =  1 hr     or     ------------ = 1     or 80 = x^2 - 2x

     x(x - 2)                                     x(x - 2)

Rewriting this in standard quadratic form:  x^2 - 2x - 80 = 0

Here a = 1, b = -2 and c = -80, and so the discriminant b^2 - 4ac is:

(-2)^2 - 4(1)(-80) = 324

The solutions are:

      -(-2) ± √324       2 ± 18

x = -------------------- = ------------ = 1 ± 9, or 10 (discard the other root)

              2                      2

The original speed was 10 km/hr

Find a right triangle that has legs with your irrational Lengths and a hypotenuse with a rational Length
cluponka [151]

gg easy

the legs of a triangle are related as a^2+b^2=c^2 wehre a, b, and c are the legs and the hypotonuse of a triangle respectively

let's find some stuff

one easy way is to find a rational value for c find values of a and b

lets pick c=5

a^2+b^2=5^2

a^2+b^2=25

now split up 25 into 2 things that don't have rational square roots

if we say a^2=19 and b^2=6 then we get

a=\sqrt{19} and b=\sqrt{6} (which are both irrational)

Marks brothers is paying a dividend of 56.25 on each share how much will PRH receive in dividends
rewona [7]

We are given that each share will receive a dividend equal to 56.25. In this problem, we should have been given the total number of shares that PRH has so that we can know the dividend. Anyway, the formula to calculate the dividend is:

<span>Dividend = 56.25 * (Number of Shares)</span>

Bad White [126]
Do 21 divided by 2 and you’ll get 10.5 so the original price was $10 and 50 cents

Given: △ABC, m∠A=120°, AB=AC=1<br> Find: The radius of circumscribed circle
Citrus2011 [14]

In Δ ABC, ∠A=120°, AB=AC=1

To draw a circumscribed circle Draw perpendicular bisectors of any of two sides.The point where these bisectors meet is the center of the circle.Mark the center as O.

Then join OA, OB, and OC.

Taking any one OA,OB and OC as radius draw the circumcircle.

Now, from O Draw OM⊥AB and ON⊥AC.

As chord AB and AC are equal,So OM and ON will also be equal.

The reason being that equal chords are equidistant from the center.

AM=MB=1/2 and AN=NC=1/2  [ perpendicular from the center to the chord bisects the chord.]

In Δ OMA and ΔONA

OM=ON [proved above]

OA is common.

MA=NA=1/2  [proved above]

ΔOMA≅ ONA [SSS]

∴ ∠OAN =∠OAM=60° [ CPCT]

In Δ OAN

\cos60=\frac {AN}{OA}

\frac{1}{2}=\frac{\frac{1}{2}}{OA}

OA=1

∴ OA=OB=OC=1, which is the radius of given Circumscribed circle.
