Distance = \sqrt{ ( x_{2} - x_{1}  )^{2} +(y_{2} - y_{1}  )^{2}  }

Substituting the values, we have:

Distance = \sqrt{ ( 9-2 )^{2} +(16-2)^{2} }

= \sqrt{7^2 +14^2}
