Water is made of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom bonded together. Julia is describing how water undergoes a physical chan

ge when it boils. She says that the particles shift to be farther apart and that the oxygen and hydrogen separate. She also says that the total mass of the steam is the same as the initial water, and that heat energy was required to cause the change. She finishes her description by saying that the steam can be turned back into water if it is cooled. Which is the mistake in her description?

She used steam instead of vapor. A gases liquid such as boiled water is a vapor.

Answer:

the oxygen and hydrogen separate

Explanation:

Julio is correct on everything else except that during the boiling of water, the oxygen atom separates from the two hydrogen atoms in each water molecule. Boiling is a physical change. Only physical properties of water change i.e changing from being a liquid to a guess. Its chemical properties remain the same. It is still water, H20. Its chemistry must not be changed in a a physical change like boiling. Once oxygens separate from hydrogens that and one oxygen atom bonded together. Julia is describing how water undergoes a physical change when it boils. She says that the particles shift to be farther  is an entirely different substance, not water.

A roller coaster travels 200 feet horizontally and then rises 135 feet at an angle of 30 degrees above the ground. What is the m
Delvig [45]
Say the initial point is (0,0)

The final point is

x = 200 + 135*cos(30) = 200 + 135*sqrt(3)/2 = 316.91 ft
y = 135*sin(30) = 135/2 = 67.5 ft

Resultant vector = (316.91, 67.5) - (0,0) = 316.91, 67.5) ft

Two loudspeakers, A and B, are driven by the same amplifier and emit sinusoidal waves in phase. The frequency of the waves emitt
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

The distance of the speaker B would be 1 meters.

Explanation:

Given that,

Frequency of the waves emitted, f = 172 Hz

You are 8.00 m from the speaker.

The speed of sound in air to be 344 m/s.

The wavelength of the wave is given in terms of frequency and the speed of sound. It is given by :

v=f\lambda\\\\\lambda=\dfrac{v}{f}\\\\\lambda=\dfrac{344\ m/s}{172\ Hz}\\\\\lambda=2\ m

Since, the distance from the Speaker A is 8 m which is the integral multiple of the wavelength. Let the closest distance of the speaker B would be given by :

d=\dfrac{\lambda}{2}\\\\d=\dfrac{2}{2}\\\\d=1\ m

So, the distance of the speaker B would be 1 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.

The total negative charge on the electrons in 1kg of helium (atomic number 2, molar mass 4) is____________.
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

n = \frac{m}{M}

n = \frac{1000}{4}

         = 250 moles.

    N  = n×6.02×10^{23}

        = 1.505×10^{26}

Total charge = (1.505×10^{26}) × (1.6×10^{-19})

                     = 2.4×10^{7} C.
