Jupiter contains a number of small moons that are thought to be captured comets or material ejected by collisions with larger ob

jects. what is the evidence for this theory?

I believe the evidence for this theory is that:

The orbits surrounding Jupiter are highly elliptical which are off the plane of the ecliptic, and many of these moons are retrograde. This is very unlikely for moons or satellites which are formed during the planetary accretion. Hence comes the theory.

Cindy exerts a force of 40 newtons and moves a chair 6 meters. Her brother Andy pushes a different chair for 6 meters while exer
sesenic [268]
Work formula:
W = F * d
F 1 = 40 N, d 1 = 6 m;
F 2 = 30 N; d 2 = 6 m.
W ( Cindy ) = 40 * 6 = 240 Nm
W ( Andy ) = 30 * 6 = 180 Nm
The difference of their amounts if work:
240 Nm - 180  Nm = 60 nm

A solenoid that is 35 cm long and contains 450 circular coils 2.0 cm in diameter carries a 1.75-A current. (a) What is the magne
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

a )  No of turns per metre

n = 450 / .35

= 1285.71

Magnetic field inside the solenoid

B = μ₀ n I

Where I is current

B = 4π x 10⁻⁷ x 1285.71 x 1.75

= 28.26 x 10⁻⁴ T

This is the uniform magnetic field inside the solenoid.

b )

Magnetic field around a very long wire at a distance d is given by the expression

B = ( μ₀ /4π ) X 2I / d

= 10⁻⁷ x 2 x ( 1.75 / .01 )

= .35 x 10⁻⁴ T

In the second case magnetic field is much less. It is due to the fact that in the solenoid magnetic field gets multiplied due to increase in the number of turns. In straight coil this does not happen .

The standing vertical jump is a good test of an athlete's strength and fitness. The athlete goes into a deep crouch, then extend
SashulF [63]

Answer:

<em>The athlete will rise 1.10 meters off the ground</em>

Explanation:

<u>Vertical Motion</u>

If an object is launched vertically upwards at an initial speed vo, then it will reach a maximum height given by

\displaystyle y_m=\frac{v_o^2}{2g}

The athlete can exert a net force upwards equal to twice his weight. It makes him accelerate upwards at

\displaystyle a=\frac{F_n}{m}=\frac{2W}{m}=2g

The speed at the end of his push can be computed by

v^2=2ay

Replacing the value of a obtained above:

v^2=4gy

where y is the length of this crouch

v^2=4\cdot 9.8\cdot 0.55

v=4.64\ m/s

This is the initial speed of this vertical launch, thus

\displaystyle y_m=\frac{4.64^2}{2\cdot 9.8}

y_m=1.10\ m
