Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that Helene is finding the sum (9 + 10i) + (–8 + 11i).

Also given that She rewrites the sum as (–8 + 11)i + (9 + 10)i.

The mistake she did is in the second term distributing i.

(9+10i) is not equal to (9+10)i

Similarly (-8+11i) is not equal to (-8+11)i

The correct method she should have done is

grouping real terms together and imaginary terms together and finding the sum

(9 + 10i) + (–8 + 11i).\\=9+10i-8+11i\\=(9-8)+i(10+11)\\=1+21i

She made a mistake of taking out i from real term without changing the real term appropriately.

Thus she did the mistake of grouping unlike terms and factorising.

The answer is that Helene incorrectly used the distributive property by combining the real number and the coefficient of the imaginary part.

Answer:

I think it is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Because u have to find the upper and lower quartile first

so the upper quartile = 10

lower quartile = 16

then u would substract the lower quartile from the upper quartile which is 6

6 is your answer

Hope this helps u but if u ever need help let me know

Annette [7]

Answer:

0.24315

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the z score formula to solve this question

z = (x - μ) / σ,

Such that:

x = raw score

μ = population mean

σ = population standard deviation.

From the question:

x = 3000

μ = 3550

σ = 870

z = (3000 - 3550) / 870

z = -550/870

z = -0.6962

Using the z score table as well as probability calculator(as requested in the question to find the z score)

The probability of having less than 3000 is obtained as:

P(x<3000) = 0.24315
