During the Middle Ages, the advancement of knowledge regarding science and mathematics began to slow around the world. One exception to this was the Middle East, where those subjects flourished. The knowledge was shared between Middle Eastern scientists and Indian mathematicians, eventually reaching China as well. Western Europe, on the other hand, was rather stagnant in their development in science and mathematics.

Answer: Middle East, China, and India.

Basile [38]

Answer:

The mass will be "8.86 lb".

Explanation:

The given values are:

Force

= 70,000 mi/h

Speed

= 7900 mi/h

On applying the Law of momentum, we get

⇒  V_{1}m_{1}=V_{2}m_{2}

On putting the estimated values, we get

⇒  70000 = 7900\times mass \ of \ deepspace \ 1

⇒  mass \ of \ deepspace \ 1 = \frac{70000}{7900}

⇒                                    =8.86 \ lb

A damped harmonic oscillator consists of a block of mass 2.5 kg attached to a spring with spring constant 10 N/m to which is app
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

0.5% per oscillation

Explanation:

The term 'damped oscillation' means an oscillation that fades away with time. For Example; a swinging pendulum.

Kinetic energy, KE= 1/2×mv^2-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(1).

Where m= Mass, v= velocity.

Also, Elastic potential energy,PE=1/2×kX^2----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(2).

Where k= force constant, X= displacement.

Mechanical energy= potential energy (when a damped oscillator reaches maximum displacement).

Therefore, we use equation (3) to get the resonance frequency,

W^2= k/m--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(3)

Slotting values into equation (3).

= 10/2.5.

= ✓4.

= 2 s^-1.

Recall that, F= -kX

F^2= (-0.1)^2

Potential energy,PE= 1/2 ×0.01

Potential energy= 0.05 ×100

= 0.5% per oscillation.

A 4.15-volt battery is connected across a parallel-plate capacitor. Illuminating the plates with ultraviolet light causes electr
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

a ) 2.13 X 10⁶ m/s .

b ) 1.28 X 10⁶ m/s

Explanation:

When electrons are repelled by negative plates and attracted by positive plates , it will increase their kinetic energy.

Increase in their energy = 4.15 eV

= 4.5 X 1.6 X 10⁻¹⁹ J

= 6.64 x 10⁻¹⁹ J

Initial kinetic energy

= 1/2 mv²

= 1/2 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ x ( 1.76 x 10⁶)²

= 14.09 X 10⁻¹⁹ J

Total energy

= 6.64 x 10⁻¹⁹+14.09 X 10⁻¹⁹

= 20.73 x 10⁻¹⁹

If V be the increased velocity

1/2 m V² = 20.73 X 10⁻¹⁹

.5 X 9.1 X 10⁻³¹ V² = 20.73 X 10⁻¹⁹

V = 2.13 X 10⁶ m/s .

b ) When electrons are released from positive plate , their speed are reduced because of attraction between electrons and positively charge plates.

Initial kinetic energy

= 14.09 x 10⁻¹⁹ J (see above )

reduction in kinetic energy

= 6.64 x 10⁻¹⁹ J ( See above )

Total energy with electron -

= 14.09 x 10⁻¹⁹  - 6.64 x 10⁻¹⁹

= 7. 45 x 10⁻¹⁹ J .

If V be the energy of electrons reaching the negative plate,

1/2 m V² =7. 45 x 10⁻¹⁹

V = 1.28 X 10⁶ ms⁻¹

Can physics measure the work a porter does? What do you need to know to measure a porters work? What produces work, and how is p
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

No

Explanation:

According to physics, the work done by porter is zero but in reality porter gets tired as muscular energy is being used up.

In physics, work is the dot product of force and displacement. when the porter moves with the luggage, the weight act downwards while the porter moves forward. The angle between force and displacement is 90°. Thus, work done by the porter is zero.

The muscles are doing work in this case which is not calculated in physics.

Power is the rate of energy consumed during the work.

Calculate the energy released in joules when one mole of polonium-214 decays according to the following equation21484 Po -->
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

ΔE = 8.77 × 10¹¹ J

Explanation:

given,

²¹⁴₈₄Po -----> ²¹⁰₈₂Pb + 42 He

Atomic masses: Pb-210 = 209.98284 amu

Po-214 = 213.99519 amu

He-4 = 4.00260 amu

1 kg = 6.022 × 10²⁶ amu;

NA = 6.022 × 10²³ mol⁻¹

c = 2.99792458 × 10⁸ m/s

energy of molecule using equation

ΔE = Δm c²

Δm is mass difference and c is speed of light

Δm = 209.98284 + 4.00260 - 213.99519

Δm = - 0.00975 amu

1 amu = 1.66 x 10⁻²⁷ kg

- 0.00975 amu = - 0.00975 x 1.66 x 10⁻²⁷ Kg

                         = -0.016185 x 10⁻²⁷ Kg

total mass = 6.022 × 10²³ x -0.016185 x 10⁻²⁷

                 = -0.097467 x 10⁻⁴ Kg

ΔE = -(0.097467 x 10⁻⁴) (3 x 10^8)²

ΔE = - 8.77 × 10¹¹

ΔE = 8.77 × 10¹¹ J
