This can be solved using ideal gas equation:

ideal gas equation,

P\times V=n\times R\times T

Here,

P denotes pressure

V denotes volume

n denotes number of moles of gas

R denotes gas constant

T denotes temperature

The values given here are as follows;

T=314 K

R=0.0821 atm L mol ⁻¹

V=11.0 L

Number of moles of gas, n= 0.703 mol

Putting all the values in the above equation,

P=\frac{ 0.703\times 0.0821\times 314}{11.0 }

P=1.64 atm

So the pressure will be 1.64 atm.

The pressure exerted by 0.703 mol {{\text{O}}_2} in a 11.0 L container at 314 K is \boxed{{\text{1}}{\text{.647 atm}}}.

Further explanation:

An ideal gas contains a large number of randomly moving particles that are supposed to have perfectly elastic collisions among themselves. It is just a theoretical concept, and practically no such gas exists. But gases tend to behave almost ideally at a higher temperature and lower pressure.

Ideal gas law is considered as the equation of state for any hypothetical gas. The expression for the ideal gas equation of gas is as follows:

{\text{PV}} = {\text{nRT}}                ...... (1)

Here,

P is the pressure of the gas.

V is the volume of gas.

n denotes the number of moles of gas.

R is the gas constant.

T is the temperature of gas.

Rearrange the equation (1) to calculate P.

{\text{P}}=\dfrac{{{\text{nRT}}}}{{\text{V}}}          ...... (2)

Given,

Volume of gas (V) is 11L.

Temperature of gas(T) is 314K.

Numbers of moles(n) are 0.703mol.

Universal gas constant R is 0.0821{\text{ atm}}\cdot{\text{L/mol}}\cdot{\text{K}} .

Substitute the values of V, T, R, n in equation (2) to calculate the pressure.

 \begin{aligned}{\text{P}}&=\dfrac{{\left( {{\text{0}}{\text{.703 mol}}} \right)\times\left( {0.0821{\text{ atm}} \cdot {\text{L/mol}}\cdot {\text{K}}}\right)\times\left( {{\text{314 K}}}\right)}}{{{\text{11 L}}}}\\&= {\text{1}}{\text{.647 atm}}\\\end{aligned}

The pressure exerted by {{\mathbf{O}}_{\mathbf{2}}} gas is 1.647 atm.

What is the best example of a cyclic event?
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

A cyclic event is one that happens repeatedly.

The appearance of Hailey's Comet is a cyclic event because it has happened in various occasions in the past on a regular schedule as predicted. We have every reason to believe that the appearance of Hailey's Comet every 75 years will continue to be happen until the comet ceases to exist.

A 0.2-mm-thick wafer of silicon is treated so that a uniform concentration gradient of antimony is produced. One surface contain
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

- 0.0249% Sb/cm

-1.2465 * 10^9 \frac{atoms}{cm^3.cm}

Explanation:

Given that:

One surface contains 1 Sb atom per  10⁸  Si atoms and the other surface contains 500 Sb atoms per  10⁸ Si atoms.

The concentration gradient in atomic percent (%) Sb  per cm can be calculated as follows:

The difference in concentration = \delta_c

The distance \delta_x = 0.2-mm = 0.02 cm

Now, the concentration of silicon at one surface containing  1 Sb atom per 10⁸ silicon atoms and at the outer surface that has 500 Sb atom per   10⁸ silicon atoms can be calculated as follows:

\frac{\delta_c}{\delta_c} = \frac{(1/10^8 -500/10^8)}{0.02cm} *100%

= - 0.0249% Sb/cm

b) The concentration (c_1) of Sb in atom/cm³ for the surface of 1 Sb atoms can be calculated by using the formula:

c_1 = \frac{(8 si atoms/unit cells)(1/10^3)}{(lattice parameter)^3/unit cell}

Lattice parameter = 5.4307 Å;  To cm ; we have

= 5.4307A^0* \frac{10^{-8}cm}{ A^0}

c_1 = \frac{(8 si atoms/unit cells)(1/10^8)}{(5.4307*10^{-8}cm)^3/unit cell}

= 0.00499*10^{17}atoms/cm^3

The concentration (c_2) of Sb in atom/cm³ for the surface of 500 Sb can be calculated as follows:

c_1 = \frac{(8 si atoms/unit cells)(500/10^8)}{(5.4307*10^{-8}cm)^3/unit cell}

   =  \frac{4*10^{-3}}{1.601*10^{-22}}

   = 2.4938*10^{17}atoms/cm^3

Finally, to calculate the concentration gradient

(\frac{\delta _c}{\delta_ x}) = \frac{c_1-c_2}{\delta_x}

(\frac{\delta _c}{\delta_ x}) = \frac{0.00499*10^{17}-2.493*10^{17}}{0.02}

= -1.2465 * 10^9 \frac{atoms}{cm^3.cm}

Element z reacts with bromine to form an ionic compound zbr2
slamgirl [31]

Explanation:

<u>Physical properties of ZBr₂</u>

The compound is an ionic substance. Therefore it will have properties of ionic compounds. Some of these properties are:

  • it is a hard solid usually with high melting points or a liquid with high boiling points.
  • Soluble in water and insoluble in non-polar solvents.
  • It can conduct electricity in aqueous solutions or in molten form.
  • it will undergo a fast reaction.

<u>Z is a metal</u>

To form ionic compound, a metal will combine with a non-metal. Bromine is a non-metal and it is expected that Z will be a metal. This is because ionic bonds involves transfer of electron from one specie to the other. Metals are usually the donor and non-metals are the receptor. This is how ionic bond forms. The electrostatic attraction resulting from the ions produced the ionic bond.

<u>Formula of the oxide</u>

ZO

                 Z                           0

                +2                         -2

It is obvious that Z has 2 valence electrons. It will lose the two valence electrons to attain stability.

Oxygen requires 2 electrons to resemble Neon. This combination will give a compound ZO.
