The solubility of the molecule depends upon the polarity of the molecule as "Like dissolves Like" implies that polar molecule dissolves in polar solvent and non-polar molecule dissolves in non-polar solvent.

Iodine is a non-polar molecule and carbon disulfide is also a non-polar molecule as net dipole moment is equal to zero but water is a polar molecule as net dipole moment is not equal to zero. Since, non-polar compounds are soluble in non-polar. Thus, iodine is soluble in carbon disulfide instead of water because water is a polar molecule.

Is utensils a substance homogeneous mixture or heterogeneous mixture
Phoenix [80]

A pure substance or a homogeneous mixture consists of a single phase. A heterogeneous mixture consists of two or more phases. When oil and water are combined, they do not mix evenly, but instead form two separate layers.

The metallic radius of a potassium atom is 231 pm. What is the volume of a potassium atom in cubic meters?
Sauron [17]
1 pm = 10∧-10 cm
Therefore, 230 pm is equivalent to 2.3 ×10∧-8 cm.
Atom is in the shape of a sphere,
The volume of a sphere is given by 4/3πr³
Thus, volume of the atom = 4/3π( 2.3 ×10∧-8)³
                                          = 4/3 (3.142 ×12.167×10∧-24
                                           = 5.096 ×10∧-23 cm³
but 1m³= 1000000cm³
Therefore, the volume of the atom = 5.096 ×10∧-29 m³

a metal worker uses a cutting torch that operates by reacting acetylene gas, C2H2(g), with oxygen gas, O2(g), as shown in the un
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

650 grams

Explanation:

Given that acetylene gas reacts with oxygen to produce caobon dioxide, water and heat and the unbalnced equation is

C_2H_2(g)+O_2(g) \rightarrow CO_2(g) + H_2O(g)+ heat

Gram-formula mass of C_2H_2= 26 g/mol

So, mass of 1 mole of acelylene is 26 grams

Therefore, mass of 25 moles of acelylene=25x26=650 grams

Hence, the mass of 25 moles of acelylene is 650 grams

Suppose there is 0.63 g of HNO3 per 100 mL of a particular solution. What is the concentration of the HNO3 solution in moles per
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

There are 0.09996826 moles per liter of the solution.

Explanation:

Molar mass of HNO3: 63.02

Convert grams to moles

0.63 grams/ 63.02= 0.009996826

Convert mL to L and place under moles (mol/L)

100mL=0.1 L

0.009996826/0.1= 0.09996826 mol/L
