How many total atoms are in 0.670 g of p2o5?

Chemistry

The molecular formula for compound is  P_{2}O_{5} mass of compound is 0.670 g.

To calculate number of atoms first calculate number of moles in the compound as follows:

n=\frac{m}{M}

Molar mass of  P_{2}O_{5} is 283.886 g/mol, thus,

n=\frac{0.670 g}{283.886 g/mol}=0.00236 mol

Thus, number of mole of P_{2}O_{5} is 0.00236 mol.

From the molecular formula 1 mole of P_{2}O_{5} has 2 mol of P (phosphorus) and 5 mol of O (oxygen).

Thus, number of moles of P and O in 0.00236 mol of P_{2}O_{5} will be:

n_{P}=2\times 0.00236 mol=0.00472 mol

Similarly,

n_{O}=5\times 0.00236 mol=0.0118 mol

Now, in 1 mol of an element there are 6.023\times 10^{23} atoms.

Number of atoms of P will be:

N_{P}=0.00472\times 6.023\times 10^{23}=2.84\times 10^{21}atoms

Similarly, number of atoms of O will be:

N_{O}=0.0118\times 6.023\times 10^{23}=7.11\times 10^{21}atoms

Total number of atoms will be sum of number of atoms of P and O:

N_{Total}=N_{P}+N_{O}=2.84\times 10^{21}+7.11\times 10^{21}=9.95\times 10^{21} atoms

Therefore, total number of atoms in P_{2}O_{5} will be 9.95\times 10^{21} atoms.

Watch the video to determine which of the following relationships are correct according to Boyle’s law.
scoray [572]

Answer:

Part A

Boyle's Law is given mathematically as

P ∝(1/V) or V ∝(1/P)

Options 4 and 5, if they are properly written.

Part B

At constant temperature, and according to the Boyle's law for an ideal gas,

A. What can cause a Volume increase is a corresponding decrease in pressure.

B. What can cause a Volume decrease is a corresponding increase in pressure.

C. The Volume is unchanged if the pressure of the gas is unchanged too.

Part C

The pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 5.0 L = 40 atm

Part D

The pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 4.5 L = 36 atm

Explanation:

Part A

Boyle's Law states that at constant temperature, the pressure of an ideal gas is inversely proportional to the volume occupied by the gas.

So, mathematically, Boyle's Law is given as

P ∝(1/V) or V ∝(1/P)

Part B

Inverse relationship between two quantities means that the higher the value of one of the quantities go, the lower the value of the other quantity goes and vice versa.

So, at constant temperature, and according to the Boyle's law for an ideal gas.

A. What can cause a Volume increase is a corresponding decrease in pressure.

B. What can cause a Volume decrease is a corresponding increase in pressure.

C. The Volume is unchanged if the pressure of the gas is unchanged too.

Part C

A certain gas occupies a volume of 20 L when the applied pressure is 10 atm, find the pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 5.0 L.

According to Boyle's Law for an ideal gas,

P ∝(1/V)

P = (k/V)

where k is the constant of proportionality

PV = k

Therefore,

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂ = k

P₁ = 10 atm

V₁ = 20 L

P₂ = ?

V₂ = 5.0 L

10 × 20 = P₂ × 5

P₂ = 40 atm

Part D

If a certain gas occupies a volume of 18 L when the applied pressure is 9.0 atm , find the pressure when the gas occupies a volume of 4.5 L

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂ = k

P₁ = 9.0 atm

V₁ = 18 L

P₂ = ?

V₂ = 4.5 L

9 × 18 = P₂ × 4.5

P₂ = 36 atm

Hope this Helps!!!

When aqueous solutions of NH4OH(aq) and CuCl2(aq) are mixed, the products are NH4Cl(aq) and Cu(OH)2(s). What is the net ionic eq
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

2OH^-(aq) + Cu^2+(aq) -----> Cu(OH)2(s)

Explanation:

The net ionic equation usually shows the main ionic reaction that goes in the system. The other ions that do not participate in this net ionic equation are called spectator ions. Spectator ions do not participate in the main reaction occurring in the system.

The net ionic equation quite often result in the formation of a solid precipitate in the system such as Cu(OH)2.

The net ionic equation for this reaction is;

2OH^-(aq) + Cu^2+(aq) -----> Cu(OH)2(s)

DNA can be replicated through an in vivo mechanism or a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) mechanism. Match each description to the
umka2103 [35]

Complete question from other source attached

Answer:

Explanation:

Catalyzed by DNA polymerase - both. DNA polymerase catalyzes DNA replication in the cell. However, purified versions of the enzyme are also used to synthesise DNA as part of PCR reactions

involves leading strand synthesis only - PCR. In PCR, lagging strand synthesis is not carried out because the DNA is denatured (rendered single stranded). Therefore, each strand is replicated independently by leading strand synthesis

duplicates a small fragment of the genome - PCR. Usually, to carry out PCR, small sequences called primers are used that specify the region of DNA to be replicated

duplicates the entire genome - in vivo replication - when the DNA is replicated in vivo, the entire genome is replicated. This is carried out prior to cell division so that two daughter cells can each inherit a copy of the entire genome
