Answer:

57 birdhouses

Step-by-step explanation:

Mitch loses 28x for the birdhouses, but gains 40x for the birdhouses. If he needs to make at least $678 then you can set the inequality like so:

678 > -28x + 40x

Combine like terms.

678 > 12x

Divide both sides by 12.

56.5 > x

The minimum that Mitch can sell is rounded up because if it was rounded down then he wouldn't make a profit (keep in mind this is the minimum that Mitch can sell).

Therefore Mitch can sell a minimum of 57 birdhouses in order to reach his goal.

Exact=56.5 rounded would be 57 because you can't make half a birdhouse.

Lin has 13 coins in her pocket that equal 40 cents. All the coins are dimes, d, and pennies, p. Which combination of coins does
Luden [163]
To answer this question you should begin with the coin that has a higher value. If you start with the dime and then just add the correct number of pennies to total $0.40, you will see that you will need 3 dimes ($0.30) and 10 pennies ($0.10).

I used a guess and check strategy starting with 2 dimes.

Mai spends 7 and 3/5 hours in school each day. Her lunch period is 30 minutes long, and she spends a total of 42 minutes switchi
Sonja [21]
First, we solve for the number of minutes in 7 and 3/5 hours by multiplying the number by 60 giving us,
                            (7 + 3/5) x (60) = 456 minutes
Spending 30 minutes for lunch will leave her with 426 minutes. Then, spending 42 minutes for switching of classes will finally give her 414 minutes.

We then divide this value by 6 (for her 6 classes) giving us 69 minutes. Thus, each class is 69 minutes long.

Imagine working in a freelance developer earning 80 USD per hour how many weeks you will have to take a 12 hour flight on a week
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

pay the 11 AM ticket

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that the flight last for 12 hours, and assuming the freelance developer can still work (have access to the internet) on the airplane throughout the flight, he stand to earn $960 ($80*12), which will still cover the cost of the flight with a profit of $60 ($960-900).

However, if he decides to pay the $11 flight ticket and there is no Internet on boards; there by losing a day of work, he stand to have lost working time which would earn with $900.

Therefore, the best choice is to pay the 11 AM ticket.
