A new coffee shop can hold no more than 50 seats. The owner wants at least 20 of the seats to be stools and the remaining seats

to be recliners. If x is the number of stools and y is the number of recliners, which graph represents the solution to the system of inequalities? x + y ≤ 50 x ≥ 20

Answer:

The below graph represents the solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, x represents the number of stools and y represents the number of recliners,

∵ total seats ≤ 50

⇒ x + y ≤ 50,

Also, owner wants at least 20 of the seats to be stools,

i.e. x ≥ 20,

And, the remaining seats to be recliners.

Related equation of the inequality x + y ≤ 50,

x + y = 50

if x = 0, y = 50

if y = 0, x = 50,

So, join the points (0, 50) and (50, 0) in the coordinate plan,

0 + 0 ≤ 50, ( true )

Thus, the shaded region will contain the origin.

For graphing x ≥ 20,

Shade the region left side of the line x = 20.

By above explanation,

We obtain the feasible region that shows the solution to the system of inequalities. ( shown below )

Note : numbers of thing can not be negative,

i.e. x ≥ 0 and y ≥ 0

Answer:

The graph in the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of stools

y ----> the number of recliners

we know that

x+y \leq 50 -----> inequality A

x\geq 20 ----> inequality B

using a graphing tool

The solution is the triangular shaded area (remember that the number of seats cannot be a negative number)

see the attached figure

stich3 [128]

Answer:

The value of y is 6\sqrt{3} units ⇒ 2nd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

In the attached figure

∵ ∠MTN is a right angle

∵ TU is the altitude of the triangle

- There are some rules in this triangle let us revise them

  • (NT)² = NU . NM
  • (MT)² = MU . MN
  • (TU)² = MU . NU
  • TM . TN = TU . MN

∵ NU = 9 units

∵ UM = 3 units

∵ MN = UM + NU

∴ MN = 3 + 9 = 12 units

- By using the 1st rule above

∴ (NT)² = 9 × 12

∴ (NT)² = 108

- Take a square root to both sides

∴ NT = \sqrt{108}

- Simplify the root

∴ NT = 6\sqrt{3} units

∵ NT is y

∴ y = 6\sqrt{3} units

The value of y is 6\sqrt{3} units

A pitcher of water at 40 degrees Fahrenheit is placed into a 70 degree room. One hour later, the temperature has risen to 45 deg
solong [7]

Answer:

3 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

The difference between the initial temperature and the temperature after an hour is an increase of 5 degrees. Since we need to calculate the time it would take for the temperature to rise to 60 degrees we need to find the difference in degrees from the current temperature to 60 degrees.

60 - 45 = 15 degrees

Since 1 hour equals an increase of 5 degrees we need to divide 15 by 5 to calculate how many hours before the temperature increases to 60 degrees

15 / 5 = 3 hours

While driving home for the holidays, you can’t seem to get Little’s Law out of your mind. You note that your average speed of tr
suter [353]

Answer:

1,200 cars per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's suppose the car flow is constant and based on the observations stated in the problem.

If we set and imaginary car counter where your car is, then there are 25 cars in ¼ of a mile (including yours) going at your same speed.

Now compute how long it will take to travel ¼ mile. As your speed is constant 60 mph, we can cross multiply

60 miles -----------> 1 hour

¼ of a mile --------> x hours

and

60/ (¼) = 1/x ---------> x = 1/240 hours.

This means that in 1/240 hours the 25 cars will be passing the counter.

Now compute how many cars will pass through our counter in 1 hour. Again, cross multiplying

1/240 hours -------> 25 cars

1 hour --------------> x cars

and

1/240 = 25/x -------> x = 25*240 = 1,200 cars.

So, the flow rate of the highway (going in your direction) in cars per hour is 1,200 cars per hour.
