White light is incident normally on a thin soap film having an index of refraction of 1.34. It reflects with an interference max

imum at 684 nm and an interference minimum at 570 nm with no minima between those two values. The film has air on both sides of it. What is the thickness of the soap film?

Answer:

638 nm

Explanation:

n = index of refraction of soap

m = order

\lambda _{max} = wavelength at maximum interference = 684 nm

\lambda _{min} = wavelength at minimum interference = 570 nm

At constructive interference is given as

2nt = m \lambda _{max}                              eq-1

At destructive interference is given as

2nt = (m + 0.5) \lambda _{min}                   eq-2

using eq-1 and eq-2

m \lambda _{max} = (m + 0.5) \lambda _{min}

m (684) = (m + 0.5) (570)

m = 2.5

using eq-2

2nt = (m + 0.5) \lambda _{min}

2(1.34) t = (2.5 + 0.5) (570)

t = 638 nm

Water runs into a fountain, filling all the pipes, at a steady rate of 0.750 m3>s. (a) How fast will it shoot out of a hole 4
kati45 [8]

Answer:

velocity  = 472 m/s

velocity = 52.4 m/s

Explanation:

given data

steady rate = 0.750 m³/s

diameter = 4.50 cm

solution

we use here flow rate formula that is

flow rate = Area × velocity .............1

0.750 = \frac{\pi }{4} × (4.50×10^{-2})²  × velocity

solve it we get

velocity  = 472 m/s

and

when it 3 time diameter

put valuer in equation 1

0.750 = \frac{\pi }{4} × 3 ×  (4.50×10^{-2})²  × velocity

velocity = 52.4 m/s

A rocket in deep space has an exhaust-gas speed of 2000 m/s. When the rocket is fully loaded, the mass of the fuel is five times
notka56 [123]

Answer:

 v_{f} = 1,386 m / s

Explanation:

Rocket propulsion is a moment process that described by the expression

       v_{f} - v₀ =  v_{r} ln (M₀ / Mf)

Where v are the velocities, final, initial and relative and M the masses

The data they give are the relative velocity (see = 2000 m / s) and the initial mass the mass of the loaded rocket (M₀ = 5Mf)

We consider that the rocket starts from rest (v₀ = 0)

At the time of burning half of the fuel the mass ratio is that the current mass is

       M = 2.5 Mf

       v_{f} - 0 = 2000 ln (5Mf / 2.5 Mf) = 2000 ln 2

       v_{f} = 1,386 m / s

6. Starting from 1.5 miles away, a car drives toward a speed checkpoint and then passes it. The car travels at a constant rate o
loris [4]
For the answer to the question above,

<span>To be 0.1 miles away from the check point ,
 the car has to travel 1.4 miles OR 1.6 miles. </span>

53 miles = 60 minutes

1.4 miles = 1.4 / 53 X 60 = 1.5849056 minutes OR 95.1 seconds

<span>1.6 miles = 1.6 /53 X 60 = 1.8113207 minutes OR 108.7 seconds
</span>So the answer is <span>95.1s and 108.7s
I hope my answer helped you</span>
