Earyn owns French Twist Hair Salon. She charges $35 for a cut an $120 for a cut and color combo. Yesterday she had seven clients

and earned $500. Let x represent only the clients that got a cut and y represent the clients that got a cut and color combo.
Which of the following equations could be used to represent this situation.

y=7-x

x + y= 500

120x + 35y= 500

(35+120) (x + y)= 500

35x + 120y= 500

35x + 120x = 500
This is the correct equation because:
 x represents the clients that got a cut (at a cost of 35)
So the total profit she earned from just the cuts is 35 times the number of people for a cut
y represents the clients that got a cut and color (120)
So the total profit she earned from the cut/color is 120 times the # of people for cut/color
It is equal to $500 because thats how much Earyn earned!
I hope this helped

The number of hours walked varies inversely with the speed of the walker. if it takes sam 12 hours to complete his walking goal
Effectus [21]
We let k be the proportionality constant for the relationship between number of hours, h and speed of the walker, s.

                        h = k/s
Substituting the known values,
                        12 = k/5
                          k = 60

For the second scenario,
                          h = k/s
Substituting the calculated value for k and the given value for speed,
                          h = (60)(3 miles/hour)
                         h = 20 hours
                         h = 20 hours

Therefore, it will take 20 hours to walk with a speed of 3 miles per hour.

40% of one spig is a spoog. 25% of a speeg is a spoog. 70% of a speeg is a spug. what percent of 1 spig is 5 spugs?
mariarad [96]

Answer:

            5 spugs is 560% of 1 spig

Step-by-step explanation:

a - spig

b - speeg

c - spoog

d - spug

40% of one spig is a spoog:  40%a = c

25% of a speeg is a spoog:    25%b = c

70% of a speeg is a spug:       70%b = d

what percent of 1 spig is 5 spugs?:     x%a = 5d

40%a = c  and  25%b = c

40%a = 25%b

b=\frac{40\%a}{25\%}=1.6a

d = 70%b = 70%•1.6a = 112%a

x%a = 5d

x%a = 5•112%a

÷a         ÷a

x% = 560%
