A rocket accelerates by burning its onboard fuel, so its mass decreases with time. Suppose the initial mass of the rocket at lif

toff (including its fuel) is m, the fuel is consumed at rate r, and the exhaust gases are ejected with constant velocity ve (relative to the rocket). A model for the velocity of the rocket at time t is given by the equation v(t) = −gt − ve ln m − rt m where g is the acceleration due to gravity and t is not too large. If g = 9.8 m/s2, m = 30,000 kg, r = 130 kg/s, and ve = 2,700 m/s, find the height of the rocket one minute after liftoff. (Round your answer to the nearest whole meter.)

Answer:

the position is  7 10⁹ m

Explanation:

Since the position is the integral of the velocity with respect to time and the equation of velocity is given in the problem

     v (t) = -gt - ve ln m - rt m

     v = dx / dt

     dx = v dt

     x = ∫ v dt

     x = ∫ [-gt -ve ln m -rtm] dt

     x = -g t² / 2 - veln m t - rm t² / 2

Evaluated between t = 0 and t = 60 s

    x = -g ½ (60² -0) - veln m (60-0) - rm ½ (60²-0)

    x = - 9.8 1800 - 2700 ln 30000 60 - 130 30000 1800

    x = -17640 - 1670050 -7020000

    x = 7.02 10⁹ m

    x = 7 10⁹ m

This is the position of the rocket 1 minute after clearance

Answer:

The height of the rocket after one minute will be -7 × 10^9 m

Explanation:

In the question expression for velocity is given. If we take the integral of that expression for time interval 0 to 60s, we will get expression for the height of rocket So,

X =  ∫〖(-gt - ve ln⁡(m) - rtm)〗 dt    (Over a interval 0 to 60 s)

X =  -g (60^2-0) / 2 – veln(m) (60-0) - rm (60^2-0) / 2

By putting all the values we get:

X = - (9.8)(3600)/2 – (2700) (ln(30000)) (60) – (130)(30000)(3600)/2

X =  -7.02 × 10^9 m

After rounding off

X =  -7 × 10^9 m

The negative sign shows that direction of the rocket motion is opposite to the velocity of ejected gases.

Two resistors of 5.0 and 9.0 ohm are connected in parallel. A 4.0 ohm resistor is then connected in series with the parallel com
rewona [7]

Answer:

I1 = 0.772 A

Explanation:

<u>Given</u>: R1 = 5.0 ohm, R2 = 9.0 ohm, R3 = 4.0 ohm, V = 6.0 Volts

<u>To find</u>:  current I = ? A

<u>Solution: </u>

Ohm's law  V= I R

⇒   I = V / R

In order to find R (total) we first find R (p) fro parallel combination. so

1 / R (p) = 1 / R1  + 1/ R2          ∴(P) stand for parallel

R (p) = R1R2 / ( R1 + R2)

R (p) = (5.0 × 9.0) / (5.0 + 9.0)

R (p) = 3.214 ohm

Now R (total) = R (p) + R3     (as R3 is connected in series)

R (total) = 3.214 ohm + 4.0 Ohm

R (total) = 7.214 ohm

now I (total) = 7.214 ohm / 6.0 Volts

I (total) = 1.202 A

This the total current supplied by 6 volts battery.

as voltage drop across R (p) = V = R (p) × I (total)

V (p) = 3.214 ohm × 1.202 A  = 3.864 volts

Now current through 5 ohms resister  is I1 = V (P) / R1

I1 = 3.864 volts / 5 ohm

I1 = 0.772 A

A bicyclist of mass 68 kg rides in a circle at a speed of 3.9 m/s. If the radius of the circle is 6.5 m, what is the centripetal
ASHA 777 [7]
Data:
Centripetal Force = ? (Newton)
m (mass) = 68 Kg
s (speed) = 3.9 m/s
R (radius) = 6.5 m

Formula:
F_{centripetal\:force} =  \frac{m*s^2}{R}

Solving:
F_{centripetal\:force} = \frac{m*s^2}{R}
F_{centripetal\:force} = \frac{68*3.9^2}{6.5}
F_{centripetal\:force} = \frac{68*15.21}{6.5}
F_{centripetal\:force} = \frac{1034.28}{6.5}
\boxed{\boxed{F_{centripetal\:force} = 159.12\:N}}

In a common but dangerous prank, a chair is pulled away as a person is moving downward to sit on it, causing the victim to land
sattari [20]

Answer:

a) Impulse |J|= 219.4 kgm/s

b) Force F = 2672 N

Explanation:

Given

Height of fall h = 0.50 m

Mass M = 70 kg

Period of collision t = 0.082 s

Solution

The final velocity of the person v is zero since the person will come to rest.

The initial velocity of the person can be calculated by using the "law of conservation of energy".

Initial Kinetic energy = Final potential energy

\frac{1}{2} mu^2=mgh\\\\u = \sqrt{2gh} \\\\u = \sqrt{2 \times 9.81 \times 0.50} \\\\u = 3.13 m/s

a) Impulse

J = final momentum - initial momentum

J = mv -mu\\\\J = 0 - (70 \times 3.13)\\\\J = -219.2 kgm/s

Magnitude of impulse

|J| = 219.1 kgm/s

b) Force

F = \frac{J}{t} \\\\F = \frac{219.1}{0.082} \\\\F = 2672 N
