Mr. Finnigan has a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics. He will use right circular cylinders with a height of 12.0 cm and a r

adius of 11.6 cm. If the density of his powder is 8.41 g/cm3 , how many grams of powder does he need to stop the Snatchers from getting to Hogwarts if he needs 14 of these cylinders? Express your answer in kg.

Answer:

Total mass in kg will be 596.96 kg

Explanation:

We have given height of the cylinders h = 12 cm

Radius r = 11.6 cm

Volume of the cylinders V=\pi r^2h=3.14\times 11.6^2\times 12=5070.22cm^3

Density d=8.41g/cm^3

We know that mass = density × volume

So mass m =5070.22\times 8.41=42640.556gram =42.640kg

There are 14 such cylinders so total mass m=14\times 42.64=596.96 kg

Voices of swimmers at a pool travel 400 m/s through the air and 1,600 m/s underwater. The wavelength changes from 2 m in the air
Nata [24]

The frequency of a sound is whatever frequency leaves the source. It doesn't change.

Voiced of swimmers at the pool don't change frequency in or out of the water. Only their speed and wavelength change.

An 888.0 kg elevator is moving downward with a velocity of 0.800 m/s. It decelerates uniformly and comes to a stop in a distance
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

The value of tension on the cable T = 1065.6 N

Explanation:

Mass = 888 kg

Initial velocity ( u )= 0.8 \frac{m}{sec}

Final velocity ( V ) = 0

Distance traveled before come to rest = 0.2667 m

Now use third law of motion V^{2} = u^{2} - 2 a s

Put all the values in above formula we get,

⇒ 0 = 0.8^{2} - 2 × a ×0.2667

⇒ a = 1.2 \frac{m}{sec^{2} }

This is the deceleration of the box.

Tension in the cable is given by T = F = m × a

Put all the values in above formula we get,

T = 888 × 1.2

T = 1065.6 N

This is the value of tension on the cable.

A strip 1.2 mm wide is moving at a speed of 25 cm/s through a uniform magnetic field of 5.6 t. what is the maximum hall voltage
Alex787 [66]
The equation for Hall voltage Vh is:

Vh=v*B*w, where v is the velocity of the strip, B is the magnitude of the magnetic field, and w is the width of the strip.

v=25 cm/s = 0.25 m/s
B=5.6 T
w= 1.2 mm = 0.0012 m

We input the numbers into the equation and get:

Vh= 0.25*5.6*0.0012 = 0.00168 V

The maximum Hall voltage is Vh= 0.00168 V.

Think about it: suppose a meteorite collided head-on with mars and becomes buried under mars's surface. what would be the elasti
Ket [755]

Answer:

Perfectly inelastic collision

Explanation:

There are two types of collision.

1. Elastic collision : When the momentum of the system and the kinetic energy of the system is conserved, the collision is said to be elastic. For example, the collision of two atoms or molecules are considered to be elastic collision.

2. Inelastic collision: When the momentum  the system is conserved but the kinetic energy is not conserved, the collision is said to be inelastic. For example, collision of a ball with the mud.

For a perfectly elastic collision, the two bodies stick together after collision.

Here, the meteorite collide with the Mars and buried inside it, the collision is said to be perfectly inelastic. here the kinetic energy of a body lost completely during the collision.
