A young woman on a skateboard is pulled by a rope attached to a bicycle. The velocity of the skateboarder is v = (4.1m/s )x and

the force exerted on her by the rope is F= (17N )x + (12N )y. A. Find the work done on the skateboarder by the rope in 20 seconds B. Assuming the velocity of the bike is the same as that of the skateboarder, find the work the rope does on the bicycle in 20 seconds

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

velocity of skateboarder is 4.1 m/s

Force F_x=14,F_y=12 N

time=20 s

As the motion is along x axis therefore

Power =F\cdot v

Power=14\times 4.1=57.4 Watt

only x component of force comes into play because there is no motion in Y direction.

Work done will be=P\times t=57.4\times 20=1148 J

Work done on skate boarder by rope is 1148 J

and work done on bicyclist by rope is -1148 as the direction of velocity is opposite to applied force

A 2.5-L tank initially is empty, and we want to fill it with 10 g of ammonia. The ammonia comes from a line with saturated vapor
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

592.92 x 10³ Pa

Explanation:

Mole of ammonia required = 10 g / 17 =0 .588 moles

We shall have to find pressure of .588 moles of ammonia at 30 degree having volume of 2.5 x 10⁻³ m³. We can calculate it as follows .

From the relation

PV = nRT

P x 2.5 x 10⁻³ =  .588 x 8.32 x ( 273 + 30 )

P = 592.92 x 10³ Pa

Sonia was experimenting with electric charges. She tied two inflated balloons together, held them next to each other, and rubbed
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

Sonia will experience repulsion in two balloons

Explanation:

Here when we rub the balloon with the woolen cloth then due to friction between the cloth and balloon electrons from balloon will transfer to woolen cloth.

Due to transfer of electron the balloon will get positive charge which is given by

Q = Ne

so here since both balloons are rubbed against woolen cloth so both balloon will get some positive charge

now we know by the property of charge that two similar charges will always repel each other so here two balloons will repel each other after they rubbed against woolen cloth.

A 0.305 kg book rests at an angle against one side of a bookshelf. The magnitude and direction of the total force exerted on the
tankabanditka [31]

Answer

given,

F_L= 1.52\ N

\theta_L= 31^0

mass of book = 0.305 Kg

so, from the diagram attached  below

F_L cos {\theta_L} + F_b sin {\theta_b} = m g

1.52 times cos {31^0} + F_b sin {\theta_b} = 0.305 \times 9.8

F_b sin {\theta_b} = 2.989 -1.303

F_b sin {\theta_b} = 1.686

computing horizontal component

F_b cos {\theta_b} = F_L sin {\theta_L}

cos {\theta_b} = \dfrac{F_L sin {\theta_L}}{F_b}

cos {\theta_b} = \dfrac{1.52 \times sin {31^0}}{1.686}

cos {\theta_b} = 0.464

θ = 62.35°
