n(A-B) denotes elements which are in A but not in B

n(Au B) denotes elements in A and B

n(AnB) denotes elements that are common in A and B

Now I will add one more set

n(B-A) which denotes elements in B but not in A

So, n(AuB) = n(A-B) + n( B-A) +n(AnB)

70 = 18 +n(B-A) + 25

70 = 43 + n(B-A)

n(B-A) = 70-43

n(B-A) = 27

So, n(B) = n( B-A) + n( AnB)

= 27+25

= 52

Westkost [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the amount invested in municipal bonds, and let y be the amount invested in corporate bonds.

If Stephanie has $45,000 and she wants to invest part or all into a combination of municipal bonds and corporate bonds, the inequality for this statement would be

x + y ≤ 45000

She wants to invest no less than $20,000 into municipal bonds. It means that

x ≥ 20000

Also, she wants to invest at least four times as much into municipal bonds than into corporate bonds. This means that

x ≥ 4y

x/4 ≥ y

y ≤ x/4

The inequalities are

x + y ≤ 45000

x ≥ 20000

y ≤ x/4

If the diagonal of a square is 11.3 meters, approximately what is the perimeter of the square
Natalija [7]
The length of each side can be found using pythagoras theorem:-

11.3^2 = 2x^2     where x = length od each side
x = sqrt( [11.3^2  / 2)
x =  7.99 meters

Your Mutual Fund was valued at $237,500. It has lost 6% per year for the last 3 years. What is its value today?
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

The answer is C) $197,263.70

Step-by-step explanation:

It's losing 6% PER year for the last 3 year.

You can do what I did and take $237,500 and times it 0.06. Which should give you 14,250, that is how much is lost in year one.

So subtract 14,250 from 237,500, you should have $223,250 now.

Repeat the first step with $223,250 now, you times it by 0.06 again and you should get 13,395, you subtract that from $223,250.

You have $209,855 now, once again times that by 0.06 and you get 12,591.30. Subtract 12,591.30 from 209,855 and you should end up with $197,263.70

It's a long, simple method and I'm sure there is another method of solving this question, but this is an easy way to get the answer.
