Jillian’s school is selling tickets for a play. The tickets cost $10.50 for adults and $3.75 for students. The ticket sales for

opening night totaled $2071.50. The equation 10.50 a plus 3.75 b equals 2071.50, where a is the number of adult tickets sold and b is the number of student tickets sold, can be used to find the number of adult and student tickets. If 82 students attended, how may adult tickets were sold?

Answer:

The number of adults tickets sold = 168.

Step-by-step explanation:

The cost of 1 adult ticket = $10.50

The cost of 1 student ticket = $3.75

The total sales from the ticket = $2071.50

Now, here let us assume

The number of adult tickets sold = a

The number of student tickets sold = b

So, the equation is given as :

10.50 a + 3.75 b = 2071.50

Now, its given the number of students = 82

⇒ b = 82

Putting the value of b in the above equation,w e get:

10.50 a + 3.75 ( 82) = 2071. 50

or, 10.50 a = 2071.50 - 307.5 = 1764

or, a = 1764/10.5 = 168

Hence, the number of adults tickets sold = a = 168.

A price was increasing at a rate of 15% per year.
alexgriva [62]
The monthly growth rate is the annual growth rate divided by 12, because there are 12 months in a year.

monthly rate = 15% ÷ 12
monthly rate = 15/100 ÷ 12
monthly rate = 15/100 × 1/12
monthly rate = 15/1,200
monthly rate = 1.25/100
monthly rate = 1.25%

The monthly growth rate is 1.25% or approximately 1.3%

He repartido mi colección de canicas entre mis tres amigos. A thales le he dado 1/5 del total, a arquimedes un 1/3 del resto y p
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

N = 16*(15/8) = 30

Esto quiere decir que inicialmente hay 30 canicas.

Thales recibe 30*(1/5) = 7 canicas.

Arquimedes recibe 30*(4/15) = 8 canicas.

Pitagoras recibe 16 canicas.

If you can buy 1/3 of a box of chocolates for 6 dollars, how much can you buy for 4 dollars?
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

Given that 1/3 of a box is 6 dollars, we can say that per dollar is 1/18 of a box. If you have 4 dollars, this would mean that you can buy 4/18 of a box to 2/9 of a box. Hope this answers your question. Have a great day ahead!
