A hypodermic needle can be thought of as a large area pipe leading to a small pipe that opens into the vein. The diameter of the

plunger is 1.2 cm and the needle diameter is 0.15 cm. If the gauge pressure in the vein is 25 mmHg, what minimum is needed on the plunger in order for a fluid flow into the vein to occur

<em>According to the statement and the data presented, it is presumed that the variable to look for is force. </em>To solve this problem it is necessary to apply the concepts related to the Force according to the pressure and the Area.

Mathematically the Force can be expressed as

F = PA

Where,

P = Pressure (At this case, the plunger pressure)

A = Cross-sectional Area ( At this case the plunger area), defined for a circle.

Our values are given as,

r = 0.006m

P = 25mmHg

Replacing we have that

F = (25mmHg \big [\frac{133N/m^2}{1mm\cdot Hg} \big ])(\pi 0.006^2)

F = 0.376N

Therefore the minimum <em>force</em> needed on the plunger inorder for a fluid flow into the vein to occur is 0.376

block of mass 0.5kg on a horizontal surface is attached to a horizontal spring of negligible mass and spring constant 50N/m . Th
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

Explanation:

The mass of the block is 0.5kg

m = 0.5kg.

The spring constant is 50N/m

k =50N/m.

When the spring is stretch to 0.3m

e=0.3m

The spring oscillates from -0.3 to 0.3m

Therefore, amplitude is A=0.3m

Magnitude of acceleration and the direction of the force

The angular frequency (ω) is given as

ω = √(k/m)

ω = √(50/0.5)

ω = √100

ω = 10rad/s

The acceleration of a SHM is given as

a = -ω²A

a = -10²×0.3

a = -30m/s²

Since we need the magnitude of the acceleration,

Then, a = 30m/s²

To know the direction of net force let apply newtons second law

ΣFnet = ma

Fnet = 0.5 × -30

Fnet = -15N

Fnet = -15•i N

The net force is directed to the negative direction of the x -axis

Julia jumps straight upward on mars, where the acceleration due to gravity is 3.7\,\dfrac{\text{m}}{\text{s}^2}3.7 s 2 m 3, po
liberstina [14]

We know the equation of motion v = u+ at, where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration and t is the time taken.

In this case Final velocity = -3.1 m/s, negative sign indicates it is pointing downward.

acceleration = - 3.7m/s^2 . Negative means acceleration is towards center of planet Mars.

Time taken = 3 seconds

v = u + at\\ \\-3.1 = u-3.7*3\\ \\u = 8 m/s

So jumping velocity of Julia = 8 m/s
