Answer:

v = 2 m/s (West)

Explanation:

Given

m = 2 Kg

v initial = 4 m/s (East)

F = 6 N (West)

t = 2 s

We can use the formula

v = v initial + a*t

if F = m*a ⇒ a = F/m = 6 N / 2 Kg

a = 3 m/s² (West)

then

v = v initial + a*t = (4 m/s) + (-3 m/s²)(2 s)

v = - 2 m/s = 2 m/s (West)

How can controlling the way light bends and reflects be used to help people?
Vinil7 [7]

too much sun is dangerous for humans and can cause cancer so it's important that light is reflected for example a pool reflects water back to space that is why water sometimes is cold because it reflects light

2.0 kg of solid gold (Au) at an initial temperature of 1000K is allowed to exchange heat with 1.5 kg of liquid gold at an initia
Elanso [62]

Answer:

Explanation:

The specific heat of gold is 129 J/kgC

It's melting point is 1336 K

It's Heat of fusion is 63000 J/kg

Assuming that the mixture will be solid, the thermal energy to solidify the gold has to be less than that needed to raise the solid gold to the melting point. So,

The first is E1 = 63000 J/kg x 1.5 = 94500 J

the second is E2 = 129 J/kgC x 2 kg x (1336–1000)K = 86688 J

Therefore, all solid is not correct. You will have a mixture of solid and liquid.

For more detail, the difference between E1 and E2 is 7812 J, and that will melt

7812/63000 = 0.124 kg of the solid gold

The tire of your bicycle needs air so you attach a bicycle pump to it and begin to push down on the pump’s handle. If you exert
dusya [7]

Answer:

12.5 J

Explanation:

Force, F = 25 N

Distance, d = 0.5 m

The direction of force and the displacement is same.

Work is defined as the product of force in the direction of displacement and the displacement.

Work = Force x displacement x CosФ

Where, Ф be the angle between force and the displacement

Here, Ф = 0°

So, W = 25 x 0.5 x Cos0°

W = 12.5 J

The speed of sound in seawater is 1470 m/s. A dolphin sends out a click that reflects off of an
Nitella [24]

Answer: 0.204 s

Explanation:

The speed of sound V is defined as the distance traveled d in a especific time t:

V=\frac{d}{t}

Where:

V=1470 m/s is the speed of sound in seawater

t is the time the sound wave travels from the dolphin and then returns after the reflection

d=2(150 m) is twice the distance between the dolphin and the object to which the sound waves are reflected

Finding t:

t=\frac{d}{V}

t=\frac{2(150 m)}{1470 m/s}

Finally:

t=0.204 s
