Answer:

After 15 years both the colleges will have same number of students.

Step-by-step explanation:

The enrollment at sunshine College has been increased by 45 students per year. Currently, sunshine College has 1100 students attending.

So, after x years the number of students of this college will be (1100 + 45x).

Again, Marigold college currently has 2000 students, but its enrollment is decreasing in size by an average of 15 students per year.

So, after x years the number of students of this college will be (2000 - 15x).

If those two colleges have the same number of students after x years, then we can write

1100 + 45x = 2000 - 15x

⇒ 60x = 900

⇒ x = 15 years.

Therefore, after 15 years both the colleges will have the same number of students. (Answer)

When given a graph, the vertical line test can be used to determine functionality. Describe the vertical line test and explain t
just olya [345]

Answer:

When given a graph, the vertical line test can be used to determine functionality. The vertical line test would represent a function if no more than one point of the graph of a relation, this shows that only one output value for each input value. If this doesn't apply or more than one point is on the line then it would not represent a function.

Step-by-step explanation:

Draw vertical lines to intersect on a graph.

The relation is a function if there’s only one point of intersection on a graph.

The relation is not a function if there’s more than one point of intersection on a graph.

The vertical line test is used to determine if each input has exactly one output.

Rachel has 24 red candies and Maya has 18 green candies. They want to arrange the candies in such a way that each row contains e
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer: 6 candies per row.

Step-by-step explanation:

The restrictions that we have are:

Each row has the same number of candies.

Each row has only one color of candy.

We want to find the largest possible rows.

We have 18 green candies and 24 red candies.

Now, to arrange them in rows of equal numbers, we should find a common factor between 18 and 24. (particularly, we want to find the largest common factor between 18 and 24).

Now, to find common factors we first take the smaller number, and we divide it by different numbers, starting by 2 (we want to divide by small numbers, so the result will be the largest factor)

18/2 = 9.

Now to see if 9 is also a factor of 24, we see if the quotient between 24 and 9 is a whole number.

24/9 = 2.66

This is not a whole number, so 9 is not a common factor.

Now we divide by the next number, 3.

18/3 = 6.

24/6 = 4.

So 6 is a common factor of 18 and 24.

Then each row will have 6 candy.

And we will have:

18/6 = 3 rows of green candy.

24/ = 4 rows of red candy.

A Semi-circle sits on top of a rectangle to form the figure below. Find it’s area and perimeter. Use 3.14 for Pie.
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of semicircle=(r^2×3.14)/2

=(4×3.14)÷2

=6.28

area of rectangle=3×4

12+6.28=18.28

perimeter of semicircle is =(d×3.14)/2

=4×3.14/2

6.28+3+3+4

6+10

perimeter=16.28

The parallel boxplots below display the weights of bags of two different brands, A and B, of granola.
KiRa [710]

Answer:

A. The bag weights for brand A have less variability than the bag weights for brand B.

Step-by-step explanation:

In a box plot display, measure of variability can be determined by the length of the rectangular box or/and by the length of the whiskers.

The longer or greater the length, the more the variability the data set has. The shorter or smaller the length, the lesser the variability.

The box plot display of Brand A has shorter rectangular box and a shorter whisker length compared to the box plot display of Brand B. Therefore, it can be concluded that: bag weights for Brand A have less variability compared to bag weights for Brand B.

The correct statement of comparison is:

"A. The bag weights for brand A have less variability than the bag weights for brand B."

Option B is incorrect. Bag weights for Brand A do not have more variability than those of Brand B.

Option C and option D are both incorrect. Neither an outlier nor range can be used to represent or describe "typical value" for a given data set.

Typical bag weights can be well represented or described by average bag weights or median weight of the data set.
