Answer:

3.53 V

Explanation:

Electric charge: The is the rate of flow of electric charge along a conductor.

The S.I unit of electric charge is C.

Mathematically it is expressed as,

Q = It ............................ Equation 1

Where Q = electric charge, I = current, t = time.

I = Q/t.......................... Equation 2

From the question, charge flows through the conductor at the rate of 420 C/mim

Which means in 1 min, 420 C of charge flows through the conductor.

Hence,

Q = 420 C, t = 1 min = 60 seconds

Substitute into equation 2

I = 420/60

I =7 A

Also

P = VI......................... Equation 3

Where P = power, V = potential drop, I = current.

V = P/I................... Equation 4

Note: Power = Energy/time

From the question, P = 742/30 = 24.733 W. and I = 7 A.

Substitute these values into equation 4

V = 24.733/7

V = 3.53 V

Hence the potential drop across the conductor =  3.53 V

A 1-m-long monopole car radio antenna operates in the AM frequency of 1.5 MHz. How muchcurrent is required to transmit 4 W of po
Zanzabum

Answer:

The current needed to transmit Power of 4 W is 28.47 A

Solution:

As per the question:

Length of the antenna, L_{a} = 1 m

Frequency, \vartheta = 1.5 MHz = 1.5\times 10^{6} Hz

Power transmitted, P_{t} = 4 W

Now,

For a monopole antenna:

\lambda_{a} = \frac{c}{\vartheta}

where

\lambda_{a} = wavelength transmitted by the antenna

c = speed of light in vacuum

\lambda_{a} = \frac{3\times 10^{8}}{1.5\times 10^{6}} = 200 m

Now,

Since, the value of \lambda_{a} >> L_{a} thus the monopole is a Hertian monopole.

The resistance is calculated as:

R = \frac{1}{2}(\frac{dL_{a}}{\lambda_{a}})^{2}\times 80\pi^{2}

R = \frac{1}{2}(\frac{1}{200)^{2}\times 80\pi^{2} = 9.869\times 10^{- 3} = 9.869 m\Omega

P_{radiated} = P_{t}

P_{radiated} = \frac{R}{I^{2}}

Now, the current I is given by:

I = \sqrt{\frac{2P_{t}}{R}} = \sqrt{\frac{2\times 4}{9.869\times 10^{- 3}}} = 28.47 A

Max and Jimmy want to jump on a trampoline. Max begins jumping in a steady pattern, making small waves in the trampoline. Jimmy
mylen [45]

Answer:

x_total = (A + B) cos (wt + Ф)

we have the sum of the two waves in a phase movement

Explanation:

In this case we can see that the first boy Max when he enters the trampoline and jumps creates a harmonic movement, with a given frequency. When the second boy Jimmy enters the trampoline and begins to jump he also creates a harmonic movement. If the frequency of the two movements is the same and they are in phase we have a resonant process, where the amplitude of the movement increases significantly.

         Max

               x₁ = A cos (wt + Ф)

         Jimmy

              x₂ = B cos (wt + Ф)

total movement

             x_total = (A + B) cos (wt + Ф)

 Therefore we have the sum of the two waves in a phase movement

If gravity between the Sun and Earth suddenly vanished, Earth would continue moving in
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

Earth would continue moving by uniform motion, with constant velocity, in a straight line

Explanation:

The question can be answered by using Newton's first law of motion, also known as law of inertia, which states that:

"an object keeps its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external net force different from zero"

This means that if there are no forces acting on an object, the object stays at rest (if it was not moving previously) or it continues moving with same velocity (if it was already moving) in a straight line.

In this problem, the Earth is initially moving around the Sun, with a certain tangential velocity v. When the Sun disappears, the force of gravity that was keeping the Earth in circular motion disappears too: therefore, there are no more forces acting on the Earth, and so by the 1st law of Newton, the Earth will continue moving with same velocity v in a straight line.

A 125-g metal block at a temperature of 93.2 °C was immersed in 100. g of water at 18.3 °C. Given the specific heat of the metal
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

34.17°C

Explanation:

Given:

mass of metal block = 125 g

initial temperature T_i = 93.2°C

We know

Q = m c \Delta T   ..................(1)

Q= Quantity of heat

m = mass of the substance

c = specific heat capacity

c = 4.19 for H₂O in J/g^{\circ}C

\Delta T = change in temperature

Now

The heat lost by metal = The heat gained by the metal

Heat lost by metal = 125\times 0.9\times (93.2-T_f)

Heat gained by the water = 100\times 4.184\times(T_f -18.3)

thus, we have

125\times 0.9\times (93.2-T_f) = 100\times 4.184\times(T_f -18.3)

10485-112.5T_f = 418.4T_f - 7656.72

⇒ T_f = 34.17^oC

Therefore, the final temperature will be = 34.17°C
