Answer:

The speed is 21.06 m/s.

Explanation:

Given that,

mass of glow worm = 5.0 g

Wavelength = 650 nm

Power = 0.10 W

Time = 10 years

The total energy emitted in a period \tau is P\tau

The energy of single photon of frequency or wavelength is

E=\dfrac{hc}{\lambda}

The total number of photons emitted in a interval \tau is then the total energy divided by the energy per photon.

N=\dfrac{P\tau}{E}

N=\dfrac{P\tau\times\lambda}{hc}

N=\dfrac{P\tau\times\lambda}{hc}

We need to calculate the speed

Using de Broglie's relation applies to each photon and thus the total momentum imparted to the glow-worm

p=\dfrac{Nh}{\lambda}

p=\dfrac{\dfrac{P\tau\times\lambda}{hc}\times h}{\lambda}

p=\dfrac{P\tau}{c}

v=\dfrac{P\tau}{mc}

Put the value into the formula

v=\dfrac{0.10\times3.16\times10^{8}}{5.0\times10^{-3}\times3\times10^{8}}

v=21.06\ m/s

Hence, The speed is 21.06 m/s.

Answer:

  a = Np/10 yrs×[3.50^7 yrs /sec]

Explanation:

The energy of the single photon of frequency f or wave length λ  is given as

   E = hc / λ

since the glow warm emits energy 0.1 J/sec

that is  the number of photons n emitted by the photon per sec will be

n = 0.1 W / E

Thus, the number of photons emitted in 10 years

 N = n×3.15×10^7 sec/yr ×10 yr

Now, momentum associated with each photon

p= h / λ

and, momentum associated with N photon particles

P= N(h/λ)

hence the change in the momentum of the glow is = Np in 10 years

Therefore, acceleration of the glow

                a = Np/10 yrs×[3.50^7 yrs /sec]

In a study, the data you collect is Habits on a Always/Sometimes/Never scale.What is the level of measurement?
zzz [600]

Answer:

Ordinal

Explanation:

There are four levels of measurement which include the nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. The data collected above is ordinal data as it qualifies the data and still indicates the ordering of the data. It gives the observer an idea of the range of data collected or its rating although mathematical calculations may not be done with it.

The other forms of data include the nominal which simply qualifies the data, the interval which qualifies the data but which the differences between the data can be obtained, and of course the data has no starting point. The ratio scale which is similar to the interval scale but which the ratios between the data obtained can be compared.

Answer:

The bomb will remain in air for <u>17.5 s</u> before hitting the ground.

Explanation:

Given:

Initial vertical height is, y_0=1500\ m

Initial horizontal velocity is, u_x=688\ m/s

Initial vertical velocity is, u_y=0(\textrm{Horizontal velocity only initially)}

Let the time taken by the bomb to reach the ground be 't'.

So, consider the equation of motion of the bomb in the vertical direction.

The displacement of the bomb vertically is S=y-y_0=0-1500=-1500\ m

Acceleration in the vertical direction is due to gravity, g=-9.8\ m/s^2

Therefore, the displacement of the bomb is given as:

S=u_yt+\frac{1}{2}gt^2\\-1500=0-\frac{1}{2}(9.8)(t^2)\\1500=4.9t^2\\t^2=\frac{1500}{4.9}\\t=\sqrt{\frac{1500}{4.9}}=17.5\ s

So, the bomb will remain in air for 17.5 s before hitting the ground.

Which of the following statements correctly describes the models put forth by Ptolemy and Copernicus to explain the universe? A.
FrozenT [24]
The correct option is D.
The model developed by Ptolemy has a lot of inconsistency and during the middle age additional explanation was offered for the claims made by the model. The model was very complicated because it was based on erroneous assumptions.
Copernicus model was simpler and some of his claims were correct.<span />
