Answer:

                    Benzoyl Chloride

Explanation:

                     Friedel-Craft Acylation is reaction utilized to add electrophiles (particularly carbonyl group) across double bonds of aromatic compounds.

In given case benzophenone is synthesized using benzene and benzoyl chloride.

Mechanism:

Step 1: In first step benzoyl chloride is treated with lewis acid to generate an electrophile i.e. oxo(phenyl)methylium.

Step 2: In the second step benzene undergoes electrophilic substitution reaction and adds the electrophile.

Step 3: In last step the aromaticity of benzene is restored with the elimination of proton.

Mrac [35]

Answer:

Another view could be from this definition: (Electron Sea Model) : The metallic bond consists of a series of metals atoms that have all donated their valence electrons to an electron cloud that permeates the structure. This electron cloud is frequently referred to as an electron sea. It might help to visualize the electron sea model as if it were a box of marbles that are surrounded by water. The marbles represent the metal atoms and the water represents the electron sea.

Like many other organic solvents we will use this semester, ethanol is flammable and caution needs to be exercised when heating
laiz [17]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

A flammable solvent refers to a solvent that catches fire easily. The precautions to be taken when working with flammable solvents are;

1) heat the solvent at a low to medium hot plate setting.

2) if you need to boil the solvent, use a condenser rather than a flask or beaker without a cover.

3) make sure that the hotplate is larger than the vessel containing the mixture that is being heated.

4) do not use strong oxidizing agents

Identify the precipitate (if any) that forms when nach3coo (also written as nac2h3o2) and hcl are mixed. express your answer as
Karolina [17]
When NaCH3Coo mixed with HCl we will get NaCl and CH3CooH as shown in the following balanced equation:

NaCH3Coo + HCl → NaCl + CH3CooH
so from this equation, we can conclude that is no precipitate because all we get is the acetic acid which found in vinegar and the NaCl which is very soluble so we don't have any precipitate.
so, your answer is no precipitate, no reaction

Which products would result from the double replacement reaction between mgcl2(aq) and na2co3(aq)?
Andrew [12]
Double displacement reactions are when the cations and anions of 2 compounds are exchanged. Cation of one reactant will form a new product with the anion of the other reactant and vice versa.
MgCl₂ --> Mg²⁺  + 2Cl⁻
Na₂CO₃ --> 2Na⁺ + CO₃²⁻
the cations and anions are exchanged therefore double displacement reaction is as follows;
MgCl₂(aq) + Na₂CO₃(aq) --> MgCO₃(s) + 2NaCl(aq)
