To solve this problem, we will apply the concepts related to Gaus' law that establishes that the electric flow through a surface is given by the charge of the object on the Vacuum permittivity. Mathematically this would be

\phi = \frac{Q_{net}}{\epsilon_0}

We must bear in mind that the net charge with the difference of the two charges given, therefore, replacing,

\phi = \frac{(15-40)*10^{-12}C}{8.85*10^{-12}C^2/Nm^2}

\phi = 2.82WB

Negative sign indicate flux is inward the surface

Tcecarenko [31]

<u>Answer</u> :

A new steel plate shines but an wooden vessel does not shine because new steel plate has lustre. ... Because steel absorbs very little amount of light and reflects back the light but in case of wooden vessel it has dull appearence and reflects very little amount of light so it does not shine.

A friend throws a heavy ball toward you while you are standing on smooth ice. You can either catch the ball or deflect it back t
baherus [9]

Answer:

Explanation:

My speed after the interaction will depend upon the impulse the ball will make on me . Now impulse can be expressed as follows

Impulse = change in momentum

change in momentum in the ball will be maximum when the ball bounces back with the same velocity which can be shown as follows

change in momentum = mv - ( - mv ) = 2mv

So when ball is bounced back with same velocity , it suffers greatest impulse from my hand . In return ,  it reacts with the same impulse on my hand pushing me with greatest impulse according to third law of motion. this maximizes my speed after the interaction.

For a long ideal solenoid having a circular cross-section, the magnetic field strength within the solenoid is given by the equat
andrezito [222]

Answer:

Radius of the solenoid is 0.93 meters.

Explanation:

It is given that,

The magnetic field strength within the solenoid is given by the equation,

B(t)=5t\ T, t is time in seconds

\dfrac{dB}{dt}=5\ T

The induced electric field outside the solenoid is 1.1 V/m at a distance of 2.0 m from the axis of the solenoid, x = 2 m

The electric field due to changing magnetic field is given by :

E(2\pi x)=\dfrac{d\phi}{dt}

x is the distance from the axis of the solenoid

E(2\pi x)=\pi r^2\dfrac{dB}{dt}, r is the radius of the solenoid

r^2=\dfrac{2xE}{(dE/dt)}

r^2=\dfrac{2\times 2\times 1.1}{(5)}

r = 0.93 meters

So, the radius of the solenoid is 0.93 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.

A 1.47-newton baseball is dropped from a height of 10.0 meters and falls through the air to the ground. The kinetic energy of th
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

The maximum amount of mechanical energy converted to internal energy during the fall is 26.7 joules

Explanation:

Potential Energy (PE) = weight of baseball × height = 1.47N × 10m = 14.7Nm = 14.7 joules

Kinetic Energy (KE) = 12 joules

Maximum amount of mechanical energy converted to internal energy during the fall = PE + KE = 14.7 joules + 12 joules = 26.7 joules
