Imagine you are walking along a roadway and see a syncline. What can you conclude anout the formation of that fold?

Explanation:

Synclines are nothing but are compression of rocks on the road. When the rocks are squeezed together due to various reasons( mainly due to the compressive stresses of tectonics), they form a series of folds. And Synclines are these folds which are downward sloping in nature and dip towards the troughs.

What is the final temperature when a 3.0 kg gold bar at 99 0C is dropped into 0.22 kg of water at 25oC?
slavikrds [6]

I will post my work, but is that 99 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius?

All you have to do is plug in the initial temperature for gold where it says Tg and the initial temperature for the water where it says Tw and then plug that in and you will have your answer.

A particular string resonates in four loops at a frequency of 320 Hz . Name at least three other (smaller) frequencies at which
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

160 Hz  ,  240 Hz  , 400 Hz

Explanation:

Given that

Frequency of forth harmonic is 320 Hz.

Lets take fundamental frequency = f₁

f_1=\dfrac{320}{4}\ Hz

f₁=80 Hz

Frequency of first harmonic = f₂

f₂=2 f₁

f₂ =2 x 80 = 160 Hz

Frequency of second harmonic = f₃

f₃= 3 f₁=3 x 80 = 240 Hz

Frequency of fifth harmonic = f₅

f₅=  5 f₁= 5 x 80 = 400 Hz

Three frequencies are as follows

160 Hz  ,  240 Hz  , 400 Hz

Four different observers are standing in a straight line on a street and hear a siren from a police car. Each person recorded th
Amanda [17]

Answer:

Wycleff is on block 1, Lilly is on block 4, Emilia is on block 12, and Quincy is on block 17.

Explanation:

Wycleff was at block 1 and heard a low pitch sound the whole time, so the police car must have been moving away from him.

Lilly observed was in block 4 change in pitch first.  So the car must have passed her first.

Emilia was at block 12 observed a Doppler effect after Lilly.  So the car passed her after passing Lilly

Quincy was at block 17 so she heard a high pitch sound the whole time, so the police car must have been moving toward him.

A newly discovered planet is found to have density 2/3 Pe and radius 2Re, where Pe and Re are the density and radius of the Eart
Leviafan [203]

Answer: D. 13 N/kg

Explanation:

The surface gravitational field is given by acceleration due to gravity on the planet (g). Let the value of it on a newly discovered planet be g'.

g = G\frac{M_e}{R_e ^2}=9.81 N/kg\\ g'=G\frac{M_p}{R_p ^2}

We know that the mass is given by product of volume and density. So,

M_e = \rho_e \times \frac{4}{3} \pi R_e^3\\ M_p= \rho_p \times \frac{4}{3} \pi R_p^3

It is given that,

\rho_p = \frac{2}{3}\rho_e

R_p = 2 R_e

\Rightarrow M_p=\frac{2}{3}\rho_e \times \frac{4}{3} \pi (2R_e)^3= \frac{16}{3} M_e

g'=G\frac{16M_e}{3\times (2R_e)^2}=\frac{4}{3}\times G\frac{M_e}{R_e ^2}=\frac{4}{3}g = 13 N/kg
