9.49 grams of Ag is produced in the reaction if 6.50X1023 atoms

of magnesium (Mg) react.

Explanation:

Balanced chemical reaction:

2 AgNO3 (s) + 1 Mg(s) 3 Mg(NO3)2 (s) + 2 Ag (s

data given:

6.50X1023 atoms of magnesium (Mg) react.

then amount of Ag formed =?

We know that 6.022 x 10^{23} atoms are present in 1 gram/ mole of a substance

so 6.50X1023 will have x grams

so, 1.07 grams of Mg will react to form x grams of Ag

atomic mass of Mg 24.30

number of moles of Mg = \frac{1.07}{24.30}

                                        = 0.044 moles of Mg

1 mole of Mg reacts to give 2 moles of Ag

0.044 moles of Mg reacts to give x moles of Ag

\frac{2}{1} = \frac{x}{0.044}

x = 0.088 moles of Ag is formed (atomic mass of silver 107.86g/mole)

mass = atomic mass X number of moles

          = 107.86 x 0.088

            = 9.49 grams of Ag is formed.

List the salts in order from weakest to strongest lattice energy (most positive to most negative). magnesium chloride, barium ch
almond37 [142]

Answer: Option (6) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Lattice energy is described as the energy released when formation of 1 mole of an ionic compound occurs due to the combination of its constituent ions.

Also, lattice energy is inversely proportional to the distance between the cation and anion. And, when we move down a group then there occurs an increase in the atomic radii of the atoms.

This means that smaller is the ionic distance between the cation and anion, more will be the lattice energy between the atoms.

Therefore, order from weakest to strongest lattice energy (most positive to most negative) for the given compounds is as follows.

barium chloride < strontium chloride < calcium chloride < magnesium chloride

A liquid has a volume of 34.6 ml and a mass of 46.0 g. what is the density of the liquid?
Minchanka [31]

The density of a substance can simply be calculated by dividing the mass by the volume:

density = mass / volume

Therefore calculating for the density since mass and volume are given:

density = 46.0 g / 34.6 mL

density = 1.33 g / mL

For the Bradford assay, the instructor will make a Bradford reagent dye by mixing 50 ml of 95% v/v ethanol with 100 mg of Coomas
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

4,25% v/v H3PO4

Explanation:

The concentration of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) is expressed as a volume / volume percentage, which means:

%v/v H3PO4 = (mL of pure H3PO4/mL of solution)*100%

In other words, we are only interested in the final volume of the solution to which the phosphoric acid was diluted, regardless of its composition. Which in this case is 1 L (1000 mL).

We can then apply the following equation, commonly used to calculate the initial or final concentration (or volume) of a substance when it is diluted:

Ci*Vi=Cf*Vf

Where:

Ci, is the initial concentration of the substance.

Vi, the initial volume of the substance

Cf, the final concentration reached after dilution

Vf, the final volume of the solution at which the substance was diluted

In this case, the incognite would be the final concentration of H3PO4 reached after dilution, that is, Cf. Therefore, we proceed to clear Cf from the previous equation and replace our data:

Cf = (Ci*Vi)/Vf = (85% v/v * 50 mL)/1000 mL = 4,25 % v/v

Note that being up and down in the division, the mL unit is canceled to result in% v / v.

A sample of H2SO4 contains 2.02 g of hydrogen, 32.07 g of sulfur, and 64.00 g of oxygen. How many grams of sulfur and grams of o
Gemiola [76]
From the chemical formula of sulfuric acid, we can see the molar ratio:

H : S : O
2 : 1 : 4

Now, we convert the mass of hydrogen given into the moles of hydrogen. This is done using

Moles = mass / Mr
Moles = 7.27 / 1
Moles = 7.27

Therefore, the moles will be:

S = 7.27 / 2 = 3.64 moles
O = 7.27 * 2 = 14.54 moles

Now, the respective masses are:
S = 32 * 3.64 = 116.48 grams
O = 16 * 14.54 = 232.64 grams
