Okay lets see here if u had a 7 yellow birds and 7 blue birds so u will get a half a bag of seeds

The bluebirds are fed 7/12.

First) You need to find a common denominator for the both of these fractions, which is 12.

Second) You need to multiply 1/3 and 1/4 to have a denominator of 12. The equivalent fractions for them are 4/12 and 3/12.

Last) You just add the numerators together and you get 7/12 ( you don't need to simplify since it already is in simplest form)

Hope this Helps!

Nolan used the following procedure to find an estimate for StartRoot 18 EndRoot.
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

Nolan correctly identified the square  numbers before and after 18.

The square roots of them are 4 and 5.

Clearly, square root of 18 should lie between 4 and 5 only.

He, then carefully squared 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 etc. and identified that 4.3 squared is nearer to 18.

Since, Nolan is finding estimated square root, his steps are cool and he didn't make any error.

You have a budget of $48. You want to buy fruit and granola bars. Fruit costs $4 per pound, and the granola bars are $1 each. Yo
zzz [600]

1)Define the variables you will use in your model.

Let

x------->total pounds of the fruit

y-------> the total number of granola bars

TC----> total cost

Tf------> total cost of the fruit

Tg----> total cost of the granola bars

2) Write an inequality representing the total cost of your purchase. (3 points)

a. Each pound of fruit costs $4. Write an expression that shows the total cost of the fruit. Use the variable you identified in question 1

Tf=4*x

b. Each granola bar costs $1. Write an expression that shows the total cost of the granola bars. Use the variable you identified in question 1.

Tg=1*y--------> Tg=y

c. Combine the expressions from parts a and b to write an expression for the total cost. Then use this expression to write an inequality that compares the total cost with the amount you have to spend.

TC=Tf+Tg

TC=4*x+y

inequality-------> 4x+y \leq 48

3. Write the inequality that models the number of granola bars you need to buy.

You need at least 10 granola bars

so

y\geq 10

4. Describe in words what each of your inequalities means

inequality 1

4x+y \leq 48

the total cost of fruits plus the total cost of granola bars must be less than or equal to 48 dollars

inequality 2

y\geq 10

5. Graph your system of inequalities.

using a graph tool

see the attached figure

6. Identify one point on the graph that represents a viable solution to the problem, and then identify one point that does not represent a viable solution.

Let

A-------> one point on the graph that represents a viable solution

B-------> one point on the graph that does not represent a viable solution

A(4,20)

x=4-------> total pounds of the fruit

y=20------> the total number of granola bars

check point A

substitute the values of x and y in the inequality 1

4x+y \leq 48

4*4+20\leq 48\\ 36\leq 48-------> is ok

substitute the values of x and y in the inequality 2

y\geq 10

20\geq 10--------> is ok

the point A represents a viable solution, because satisfies both inequalities

B(10,30)

x=10-------> total pounds of the fruit

y=30------> the total number of granola bars

check point B

substitute the values of x and y in the inequality 1

4x+y \leq 48

4*10+30\leq 48\\ 70\leq 48-------> is not a viable solution

substitute the values of x and y in the inequality 2

y\geq 10

30\geq 10--------> is ok

the point B is not a viable solution because does not satisfy the inequality 1

Function f is a linear function with an initial value of 17 and a rate of change of –3. Some values for the linear function g ar
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

g(x) exceed f(x) by 10 when x=5

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the equation of function f(x)

we know that

The initial value is the y-intercept of the linear function (value of y when the value of x is equal to zero)

so

b=17

The rate of change is equal to the slope

so

m=-3

therefore

f(x)=-3x+17

step 2

Find the equation of function g(x)

Let

A(0,-8),B(2,0)

Find the slope

m=(0+8)/(2-0)=4

b=-8 ----> point A

therefore

g(x)=4x-8

step 3

Find the value of f(x) and g(x) for x=5

f(5)=-3(5)+17=2

g(5)=4(5)-8=12

Find the difference

g(5)-f(5)=12-2=10

Points A(-2,3), B(-5,-4), and C(2,-1) form triangle ABC on a coordinate plane. What is the area of this triangle in square units
Veseljchak [2.6K]

1. Draw an accurate picture of the triangle in the coordinate axes, as shown in the attached picture.<span>

<span>2. Circumscribe a rectangle about the triangle, as shown in the picture. The coordinates of the points M, N, T are easily identifiable as shown in the picture.</span>

<span>3. The area of the triangle ABC is  The area of the rectangle - Area 1- Area 2- Area 3.</span>

Area 1 = 1/2(3*7)=21/2
Area 2 = 1/2(4*4)=1/2*16=8
<span>Area 3 = 1/2( 3*7)=21/2</span>

<span>Area 1+Area 2+Area 3=21/2+21/2+8=21+8=29 (units squared)</span>

<span>Area rectangle=  7*7=49 (units squared)</span>

<span>Answer: Area of triangle is 20 units squared.</span></span>

How does the value of 874.12 change if the decimal point is moved two places to the left?
Rashid [163]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

When you move the decimal either to the right or the left, you change the value. To divide any number by 10, move the decimal point one place to the left. For example:

0.7

7

70

700

7,000

So, for any decimal, when you move the decimal point one place to the right, you multiply that number by 10.
