Answer:

The  length is  D  =  5 \ cm

Explanation:

From the question we are told  that

     The  length of the  hand is  l = 10.0 \ cm

      The  angle at the hand is  held is  \theta = 30 ^o

Generally resolving the length the length of the hand to it vertical component we obtain that the length of the shadow on the vertical wall is mathematically evaluated as

             D  =  l * sin(\theta )

substituting values

             D  =  10 * sin (30)

             D  =  5 \ cm

A rigid tank contains nitrogen gas at 227 °C and 100 kPa gage. The gas is heated until the gage pressure reads 250 kPa. If the a
aleksley [76]

Answer:

 T₂ =602  °C

Explanation:

Given that

T₁ = 227°C =227+273 K

T₁ =500 k

Gauge pressure at condition 1 given = 100 KPa

The absolute pressure at condition 1 will be

P₁ = 100 + 100 KPa

P₁ =200 KPa

Gauge pressure at condition 2 given = 250 KPa

The absolute pressure at condition 2 will be

P₂ = 250 + 100 KPa

P₂ =350 KPa

The temperature at condition 2 = T₂

We know that

\dfrac{T_2}{T_1}=\dfrac{P_2}{P_1}\\T_2=T_1\times \dfrac{P_2}{P_1}\\T_2=500\times \dfrac{350}{200}\ K\\

T₂ = 875 K

T₂ =875- 273 °C

T₂ =602  °C

F=ma

For the first (10kg) cart,
12=10a
a=6/5 m/s^2 to the left

For the second (5kg) cart,
8=5a
a=8/5 m/s^2 to the left

Therefore, the lighter (5kg) cart experiences a greater acceleration.

Fill in the blanks to complete the statements.
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

When an object changes speed (increases/decreases) it results in acceleration/de acceleration, its velocity also changes.

Explanation:

Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity.An object can accelerate when speed increases, decreases or direction changes. All these instances involves a change in velocity.Velocity is a vector quantity thus it has magnitude and the direction.Acceleration due to change in direction is centripetal acceleration.The expression for finding acceleration is;

a=change in velocity/change in time

a=Δv/Δt in m/s²
