Let d = # of dimes
Let q = # of quarters
45 = d + q
.1d + .25q = 8.40
Then we can use the substitution method and make it so that d = 45 - q.
Then plug in the value for d into the second equation.
.1(45-q)+.25(q)=8.40
4.5-.1q+.25q=8.40
4.5+.15q = 8.40
.15q = 3.90
q = 26
d = 45 - 26 = 19
26 quarters
19 dimes

For the equation ae^ct=d, solve for the variable t in terms of a,c, and d. Express your answer in terms of the natural logarithm
saveliy_v [14]

We have been given an equation ae^{ct}=d. We are asked to solve the equation for t.

First of all, we will divide both sides of equation by a.

\frac{ae^{ct}}{a}=\frac{d}{a}

e^{ct}=\frac{d}{a}

Now we will take natural log on both sides.

\text{ln}(e^{ct})=\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})

Using natural log property \text{ln}(a^b)=b\cdot \text{ln}(a), we will get:

ct\cdot \text{ln}(e)=\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})

We know that \text{ln}(e)=1, so we will get:

ct\cdot 1=\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})

ct=\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})

Now we will divide both sides by c as:

\frac{ct}{c}=\frac{\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})}{c}

t=\frac{\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})}{c}

Therefore, our solution would be t=\frac{\text{ln}(\frac{d}{a})}{c}.

After riding her bike for 20 miles. Angela got off and walked her bike the rest of the way at 5 miles per hour. If the total tri
mylen [45]

Answer:

She rode her bike 20 miles... I believe this may be a trick question.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's break down this problem...

If she is going at a rate of 5 miles per hour while walking than the maximum she could have walked in 5 hours is 25 miles.

If Angela rode her bike for 20 miles, and the got off her bike and walked "<em>the rest of the way</em>" then she should have walked 50 miles. However as we already know her rate is 5 miles per hour while walking, and therefore could only have covered half that distance in 5 hours.

Is this a multiple choice question? Is there any misssing informaation?

Select the correct answer. Sarah wants to print copies of her artwork. At the local print shop, it costs her $1 to make 5 copies
Ber [7]

$1 = 5copies means

$5 = 25 copies obviously

then

$x = 100 copies

100 / 5 = $x

so she needs

$20

Paige works at a department store and has a commission rate of 3 percent. Her sales for the quarter were $4,596. If she earns $5
ANTONII [103]
How you would set this up would be as follows:

(50*30)+4,596*.03

The 50*30 is her earning $50 a day for 30 days. Then to find her commission earnings you multiply her sales of 4,596 times the commission rate of 3%(when you move the decimal place you get .03)

Add them together and you get her total amount earned of $1,637.88

Hope this helped!
