Answer:

See the answer below

Explanation:

The information than can be inferred from knowing the pH value of a chemical solution is the hydrogen or hydroxyl ion concentration of the solution.

The pH of a solution is the degree of acidity or alkalinity of the solution. Mathematically, the pH of a solution is expressed as:

pH = -log_{10}[H^+] where [H^+] = hydrogen ion concentration.

Also,

pH = 14 - pOH, where pOH = -log_{10}[OH^-]

The more the [H^+] of a solution, the lower the pH, and the more the [OH^-] of a solution the higher the pH. The pH value ranges from 0 - 14 with 7 being a neutral pH.

Each half-life results in ~50% (1/2) of the original element remaining.

7500/1250 = 6 half-lives, so 100(1/2)^6

= 1.5625% of the original element would remain

How long will it take 10.0 mL of Ne gas to effuse through a porous barrier if it has been observed that 125 minutes are required
cupoosta [38]

Answer:

88.8 minutes

Explanation:

Graham's law of diffusion relates rate of difusion by the following formula

Rate1 / rate 2 = √( Mass of argon / Mass of Neon)

Where rate = volume divided by time

Rate 1 = 10 ml / t1

Rate 2 = 10 ml / t2

Rate 1/ rate 2 = 10 ml / t1 ÷ 10 ml/ t2 = t2/ t1

t2/t1 = √(Mass of argon / mass of Neon) = √( 39.984/20.179)

125 / t1 = 1.4026

t1 = 125 / 1.4026 = 88.8 minutes

A filament of a light bulb is made from a pure sample of tungsten.
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

The correct options are:

1) Pure chemical substance

2) Element.

Explanation:

each of the term is explained below:

1) Mixture: Since tungsten is an element in periodic table thus it is not a mixture.

2) False by definition of mixture.

3) false by definition of mixture.

4) Solution: Tungsten in a filament is in solid form hence solution is incorrect.

5) Since it is given in the question itself that the sample is pure hence option 'E' is correct as chemical substance is a pure substance that has a homogeneous composition and the sample in the question is given as pure.

6) Compound: By definition of compound it is formed by mixing 2 or more elements but since tungsten is an element that occurs independently in nature hence it is not a compound.

7) Tungsten is a element in the periodic table with atomic number 74.
