Answer:

B).315mph

Explanation:

Let the speed of the plane = p

Let the speed of the wind = w

Set up the system equation as;

                                     Relative V:               Time:                          Distance:

in wind direction:          p + w                         2                                  700

against wind:                 p - w                         2.5                                700

2(p + w) = 700

2.5(p - w) = 700

2p + 2w = 700

2.5p - 2.5w = 700

2.5  x:     5p + 5w = 1750

2  x:        5p - 5w = 1400

10p = 3150

p = 315 mph

Therefore, he speed of the plane in still air is 315 mph

Consider a double Atwood machine constructed as follows: A mass 4m is suspended from a string that passes over a massless pulley
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

Hello your question is incomplete attached below is the complete question

Answer : x ( acceleration of mass 4m ) = \frac{g}{7}

The top pulley rotates because it has to keep the center of mass of the system at equilibrium

Explanation:

Given data:

mass suspended = 4 meters

mass suspended at other end = 3 meters

first we have to express the kinetic and potential energy equations

The general kinetic energy of the system can be written as

T = \frac{4m}{2} x^2  + \frac{3m}{2} (-x+y)^2 + \frac{m}{2} (-x-y)^2

T = 4mx^2 + 2my^2 -2mxy

also the general potential energy can be expressed as

U = -4mgx-3mg(-x+y)-mg(-x-y)+constant=-2mgy +constant

The Lagrangian of the problem can now be setup as

L =4mx^2 +2my^2 -2mxy +2mgy + constant

next we will take the Euler-Lagrange equation for the generalized equations :

Euler-Lagrange  equation = 4x-y =0\\-2y+x +g = 0

solving the equations simultaneously

x ( acceleration of mass 4m ) = \frac{g}{7}

The top pulley rotates because it has to keep the center of mass of the system at equilibrium

Vinvika [58]
Hey there!

A ball rolls 3 times. If she adds the three measurements and divides it by 3, it means that this is the average speed. The average speed is found by adding all measurements and dividing by the amount of numbers.

I hope this helps!

A star orbiting a black hole in a clockwise direction at a radial distance of 1.0 × 106 km is acted upon by a counterclockwise f
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

2.5 \times 10^{11} N-m upwards

Explanation:

Torque is the vector cross product of the force and radial distance.

\tau = rF sin \theta

\tau = (1.0\times 10^6 \times 10^3) m \times 250 N\times sin 90^o \\\Rightarrow \tau= 2.5 \times 10^{11} N-m

The direction of the torque would be perpendicular to the direction of the force and radial distance. The direction of the force is counter-clockwise. The direction of the torque would be upwards.

Julia jumps straight upward on mars, where the acceleration due to gravity is 3.7\,\dfrac{\text{m}}{\text{s}^2}3.7 s 2 m 3, po
liberstina [14]

We know the equation of motion v = u+ at, where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration and t is the time taken.

In this case Final velocity = -3.1 m/s, negative sign indicates it is pointing downward.

acceleration = - 3.7m/s^2 . Negative means acceleration is towards center of planet Mars.

Time taken = 3 seconds

v = u + at\\ \\-3.1 = u-3.7*3\\ \\u = 8 m/s

So jumping velocity of Julia = 8 m/s
