Marta , who is only 5years old , heard her mother use a curse word and is now repeating that word much to the embarrassment of h

er parents. It was especially upsetting when she used it ik n church! By explaining to Marta that word is not nice and then ignoring her use of the word , her parents are pleased when the word disappeared from her vocabulary. Which concept of learning does this mostly demonstrate?

An apple is whirled round in a horizontal circle on the end of a string which is tied to the stalk. It is whirled faster and fas
Brrunno [24]

when the apple moves in a horizontal circle, the tension force in the string provides the necessary centripetal force to move in circle. the tension in the string is given as

T=mv²/r

where T = tension force in the string , m = mass of the apple

v = speed of apple , r = radius of circle.

clearly , tension force depends on the square of the speed. hence greater the speed, greater will be the tension force.

at some point , the speed becomes large enough that it makes the tension force in the string becomes greater than the tensile strength of the string. at that point , the string breaks

An athlete prepares to throw a 2.0-kilogram discus. His arm is 0.75 meters long. He spins around several times with the discus a
wlad13 [49]
Centripetal Force (Fcp) = ?

His arm length = Radius (R) = 0.75 m

Discus velocity = Linear Velocity (V) = 5 m/s

Discus mass (m) = 2 kg

Centripetal Acceleration (Acp) = V^2/R or W^2 x R
In this case i will use the V^2/R formula, because it uses the discus velocity (V).

fcp = m \times acp \\ fcp = m \times {v}^{2} \div r \\ fcp = 2 \times {5}^{2} \div 0.75 \\ fcp = 2 \times 25 \div 0.75 \\ fcp = 50 \div 0.75
fcp = 66.666... = 66 \: newtons

Answer: Last option, 66 N.

Constants Periodic Table Suppose the top surface of the vessel in the figure (Figure 1) is subjected to an external gauge pressu
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

a)  v₁ = √ [2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)]

b) Water does not flow,

Explanation:

a) For this exercise we will use Bernoulli's equation, where index 1 is at the exit and index 2 on the surface of the water

            P₁ + ½ ρ v₁² + ρ g y₁ = P₂ + ½ ρ v₂² + ρ g y₂

This case does not indicate at the surface pressure is P₂, the pressure at the outlet is P₁ = P₀, the surface velocity is zero v₂ = 0

          P₀ + ½ ρ v₁² + ρ g y₁ = P₂ + 0 + ρ g y₂

           ½ ρ v₁² = P₂-P₀ + ρ (y₂ -y₁)

          v₁² = 2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)

          v₁ = √ [2 (P₂-P₀) /ρ + 2 (y₂ -y₁)]

b) Reduce the pressure to SI units

         P₂ = 0.86 atm (1.01 10⁵ Pa / 1 atm) = 0.8686 10⁵ Pa

         P₀ = 1.01 10⁵ Pa

         ρ = 1 10³ kg / m³

Let's calculate

         v₁ = √ [2 (0.8686 -1.01) 10⁵/10³ + 2 (2.6)]

         v₁ = √ [-0.2828 10² + 5.2] = Ra [-23]

Water does not flow, this is because the pressure of the inner part is less than atmospheric, so that the water flows the pressure P₂> = P₀

For example if the pressure P₂ = P₀

         v₁ = √ 5.2

          v₁ = 2.28 m / s

Consider the static equilibrium diagram here. What is the angle F1 must make with the horizontal?
Nataly [62]

ANSWER

\theta=35\degree

EXPLANATION

Since the body is in equilibrium, total upward forces must equal total downward force.

Also the net horizontal forces acting on the body must be zero.

We need to resolve F_1 into vertical and horizontal components.

The horizontal component is

x=F_1\cos\theta.

The vertical component is

y=F_1\sin\theta.

Equating the up force to the downward forces gives,

F_1\sin\theta + 20N=60N.

This implies that,

F_1\sin\theta =60N-20N.

F_1\sin\theta=40N...eqn1

Also the horizontal forces must be equal.

F_1\cos\theta=57N...eqn2.

Dividing equation (1) by equation (2) gives,

\frac{F_1\sin\theta}{F_1\cos\theta}=\frac{40}{57}.

\Rightarrow \tan\theta=0.70175

\Rightarrow \theta=tan^{-1}(0.70175)

\Rightarrow \theta=35.0594.

Therefore the given angle that F_1 must make with the horizontal is approximately 35° to the nearest degree.

An airplane travels horizontally at a constant velocity v. An object is dropped from the plane and one second later another obje
Delvig [45]

Answer:

the vertical distance between the two object will increase uniformly when they are dropped after a fixed interval of time

Explanation:

Since airplane is moving horizontally with constant speed v

so when object is dropped from the plane then the speed of the object will be same as that of the speed of the airplane

so we can say that two object when dropped after some interval of time then they always lie in same vertical line

now we know that they both have same acceleration in vertical line so the motion of two objects relative to each other in vertical direction is always uniform motion because they have no acceleration with respect to each other

So the vertical distance between the two object will increase uniformly when they are dropped after a fixed interval of time
