Answer:

Metric Measurement

The metric system of measurement is based on 10 and powers of 10. The prefixes used for length, capacity, and mass tell what part of the basic unit is being considered.

as in hm for hectometers

as in dam for dekameters

as in dm for decimeters

as in cm for centimeters

as in mm for millimeters

At this grade level, the only prefixes that will be used are kilo-, deci-, centi-, and milli-.

The common units of length include millimeters, centimeters, decimeters, meters, and kilometers. Students should know the following equivalencies and abbreviations. Remind students that abbreviations do not take a plural s.

Length

100 centimeters (cm) = 1 meter (m)

10 decimeters (dm) = 1 meter (m)

1,000 meters (m) = 1 kilometer (km)

In the metric system of measurement, the common units of measure and abbreviations for capacity and mass* are shown below. Students should know the following equivalencies and abbreviations.

Capacity

1,000 milliliters (mL) = 1 liter (L)

Mass

1,000 grams (g) = 1 kilogram (kg)

HELP!! Type the correct answer in each box. Use numerals instead of words. If necessary, use / for the fraction bar(s).
Rashid [163]

Answer:

20

85%

Step-by-step explanation:

You are given the function S(n)=20\cdot b^n.

If n  is the number of hours, then initially n=0 and

S(0)=20\cdot b^0=20\cdot 1=20.

If S(n) is the function of exponential growth, then it can be represented as

S(n)=I\cdot (1+r)^n,

where I is the initial amount, r -is the percent growth rate and n is the number of hours.

If b = 1.85, we can represent it as b = 1 + 0.85. Thus, the hourly percent growth rate of the bacteria would be 0.85=85%.

Match the x-coordinates with their corresponding pairs of y-coordinates on the unit circle.
jeka57 [31]
<span>y=+- square root 5 over 3

y^2 + x^2 = 1 => x^2 = 1 - y^2 = 1 - 5/9 = 4/9 => x = +/- 2/3

Answer: x = +/- 2/3

y=+- square root 7 over 3

y^2 + x^2 = 1 => x^2 = 1 - y^2  =  1 - 7/9 = 2/9 => x = +/- (√2) / 3

Answer: x = +/-(√2)/3

y=+- 3 over 3

x^2 = 1 - y^2 = 1 - 3/9 = 1 - 1/3 = 2/3 => x = +/-(√2/3)

Answer: x = +/-√(2/3)

y=+- 2 square root 2 over 2

= y = +/- 2(√2) /2 = √2  ...... these y-coordinates are out of the unit circle, then there is not a corresponding x - coordinate for them.

At what points does the helix r(t) = sin t, cos t, t intersect the sphere x2 + y2 + z2 = 65? (round your answers to three decima
Firdavs [7]
\mathbf r(t)=\langle x(t),y(t),z(t)\rangle=\langle\sin t,\cos t,t\rangle

x^2+y^2+z^2=\sin^2t+\cos^2t+t^2=65
\implies t^2=64
\implies t=\pm8

What is the product of 8x-3 and x2- 4x +8
Dmitriy789 [7]
A product is the answer that you get when you multiply numbers together. So for this problem, you have 2 groups to multiply together. Since I cannot show a square or cubed x, I will put an x2 for x squared and an x3 for x cubed. You have to multiply each number in the first parentheses by each number in the second parentheses. Then combine any like sets.

(8x-3)(x2-4x+8)
8x3-32x2+64x-6x+12x-24
8x3-32x2+70x-24

So the answer is 8x cubed minus 32x squared plus 70x minus 24. Whew! That's a long one. Hope I didn't miss anything.

The first term of a finite geometric series is 6 and the last term is 4374. The sum of all the term os 6558. find the common rat
Oliga [24]

A geometric series is written as ar^n, where a is the first term of the series and r is the common ratio.

In other words, to compute the next term in the series you have to multiply the previous one by r.

Since we know that the first time is 6 (but we don't know the common ratio), the first terms are

6, 6r, 6r^2, 6r^3, 6r^4, 6r^5, \ldots.

Let's use the other information, since the last term is 4374 > 6, we know that r>1, otherwise the terms would be bigger and bigger.

The information about the sum tells us that

\displaystyle \sum_{i=0}^n 6r^i = 6\sum_{i=0}^n r^i = 6558

We have a formula to compute the sum of the powers of a certain variable, namely

\displaystyle \sum_{i=0}^n r^i = \cfrac{r^{n+1}-1}{r-1}

So, the equation becomes

6\cfrac{r^{n+1}-1}{r-1} = 6558

The only integer solution to this expression is n=6, r=3.

If you want to check the result, we have

6+6*3+6*3^2+6*3^3+6*3^4+6*3^5+6*3^6 = 6558

and the last term is

6*3^6 = 4374
