The function g(x) is a translation of f(x) = (x + 3)2 – 10. The axis of symmetry of g(x) is 5 units to the right of f(x) . Which

function could be g(x)?
g(x) = (x – 2)2 + k
g(x) = (x + 8)2 + k
g(x) = (x – h)2 – 5
g(x) = (x – h)2 – 15

Y=(x-h)^2+k
a shift to the right by c units would be y=(x-h-c)^2+k
so 5 to the right
g(x)=(x+3-5)^2-10
g(x)=(x-2)^2-10
first option

The given function is:

f(x)= (x+3)² - 10

As we have to find g(x), which is 5 units right of f(x).

Now, first drawing the graph of f(x) on Desmos graphing,

The curve f(x) is a parabola having vertex (-3,-10).

As we know axis of symmetry is the line which divides the parabola in two parts , such that each of them are mirror images of each other.

Now , the curve g(x)= (x+3-5)² + K  →→→[∵ The axis of symmetry of g(x) is 5 units to the right of f(x)]

g(x) = (x-2)² + K,  →→→→→  -∞≤ k≤∞

When K= -10, g(x)=(x-2)² -10 , graph of f(x) and g(x) drawn below.

Option (A) , g(x) = (x-2)² + K,  →→→→→  -∞≤ k≤∞ is Right choice.

Answer:

<h3>i¹ + i² + i³ +. . .+ i⁹⁹ + i¹⁰⁰ = 0</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the sum S = i¹ + i² + i³ +. . .+ i⁹⁹ + i¹⁰⁰

S =  i¹ +  i² +  i³ + . . . + i⁹⁹  +  i¹⁰⁰

S = a₁ + a₂ + a₃ +. . . + a₉₉ + a₁₀₀

then, S is the sum of 100 consecutive terms of a geometric sequence (an)

where the first term a1 = i¹ = i  and the common ratio = i

FORMULA:______________________

S=(term1)*\frac{1-(common.ratio)^{number.of.terms}}{1-(common.ratio)}

_______________________________

then

S=i*\frac{1-i^{100} }{1-i}

or i¹⁰⁰ = (i⁴)²⁵ = 1²⁵ = 1  (we know that i⁴ = 1)

Hence

S = 0

Two airplanes are flying to the same airport. Their positions are shown in the graph. Write a system of linear equations that re
Liono4ka [1.6K]
To write the system we need the slope of each line and at least one point on the line. The two lines to consider will be the lines connecting the location of each plane to the airport they are flying to. It is also worth noting that the coordinates of the airport represent the point of intersection of the two lines and thus the solution to the system.

1. slope of the line connecting airplane one and the airport: m = 2 you can see this clearly if you graph the two points. From airplane 1 location we rise 8 units and move to the right 4 units to get to the airport. Slope is defined as rise over run: so 8 divided by 4 = 2(the slope) Now substitute the slope and the point (2,4) into point-slope form of a line:

y - 4 = 2(x -4) the standard form of this equation is 2x - y = 0

2. slope of the line connecting airplane 2 and the airport: m = -\frac{1}{3} To find this slope, simply observe the vertical change of down 3 and a horizontal shift of right 9 from the airport to airplane 2. Now substitute this slope and and the point (15,9) into point-slope form of a line:

y - 9 = - \frac{1}{3}(x - 15) the standard form of this equation is:
x + 3y = 42

Let's write the system:
2x - y = 0
x + 3y = 42
Multiply the first equation by 3 to get the new system
6x - 3y = 0
x + 3y = 42 add these two equations to get an equation in terms of x

7x = 42 thus x = 6 and substituting this value into 2x - y = 0 we see y = 12
In other words, we have proven that the location of the airport is in fact the solution to our system.

PS: You just have to do a little algebra to get from point-slope form of the two equations to standard form. I did not show this process, but if you need it just let me know... thanks

The graphs below have the same shape. The equation of the blue graph is f(x) = 2x. Which of these is the equation of the red gra
Allisa [31]
The main thing you want to ask yourself is "What is the difference between the two graphs?"

As we can see, the graphs look identical in every way except that g(x) is lower than f(x).

This means that the graph is shifted down a certain amount.

If we look at the y-intercepts of the two functions, we see that f(x) has a y-intercept of 1, and g(x) has a y-intercept of -1.

This means that f(x) is two units lower than g(x).

The y-intercept of a function can be changed by adding or subtracting a number to the original function (in this case 2^{x}).

Because the graph f(x) is 2 lower than the graph of g(x), we can find g(x) by subtracting 2 from f(x).

Therefore, g(x) = 2^{x} - 2.

Plot the function y(x)=e–0.5x sin(2x) for 100 values of x between 0 and 10. Use a 2- point-wide solid blue line for this functio
Flauer [41]

Answer:

The plot is attached.

Step-by-step explanation:

Plot the function y(x)=e^–0.5x sin(2x) for 100 values of x between 0 and 10. Use a 2- point-wide solid blue line for this function.

The step value for x is (10-0)/100=0.1.

Plot the function y(x)=e–0.5x cos(2x) on the same axes. Use a 3-point-wide dashed red line for this function.

The step value for x is the same as the previous function.

The plot is attached.
