<h2>Answer:</h2>

New Zealand has a population of 4,326,380 and area of 103,736 miles, so if divide population with area we will get the population density. The population density of New Zealand is 42 people per square miles.

Australia has an area of 2,967,909 and population of 21,905,140 so the population density of Australia is 7 people per square miles.

Alika [10]

Answer:

Becky’s doctor provided only supportive care because the toxin that poisoned her, the demoic acid, has no known antidotes; which happen to be the only cure for toxins.

Antimicrobial were not part of Becky's treatment because Becky was infected by a toxin and not a microbial infection.

Diatoms are not different from eukaryotic cells or eukaryotes. they are Eukaryotes, which are different from prokaryotes. However both the eukaryotes (diatoms) and the prokaryotes possess cytoplasm, plasma membrane and ribosomes.

Explanation:

Demoic acid is a marine bio-toxin that results in Amnesic Shellfish poisoning (ASP). This biotoxin is produced by diatoms of the species <em>Nitzschia navis-varingica</em> of the genus <em>Pseudo-Nitzschia</em><em>. </em>This intoxication can result in symptoms ranging from gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, hemorrhagic gastritis) to neurological disturbances (including headaches, diziness, disorientation, vision disturbances, loss of short term memory, motor weakness, abnormal heart rhythm, unstable blood pressure, etc.). In more severe cases, it could lead to permanent short term memory loss, brain damage, coma, and death. Due to the lack of antidotes for this toxin, it is advised that medical attention be sought as soon as possible, where the patient can be closely monitored and cared for.

There's a difference between toxins and microbial infections. while Microbial infections are caused by harmful microorganisms infecting the body tissue and cells, toxins are harmful substances produced by microorganisms. Hence, the approach for treatment for both cases are different.

Diatoms are eukaryotic cells or eukaryotes, which are organisms that have a membrane enclosing in their nucleus, hence they have  a true nucleus and organelles bound by a membrane, supporting functions in compartments. Prokayotic cells or prokayotes, on the other hand, which are typically smaller, do not possess a protective membrane around their nucleus or any organelles enclosed by the membrane. Regardless of their differences, they still both share similarities. After all, they both are cells. So they have the basic features of cells. These similarities include the possession of a cytoplasm, ribosomes, plasma membrane.

Pedigrees are used to help geneticists understand how traits are inherited between generations. The Romanovs, a Russian royal fa
inysia [295]

Answer:

Waldemar carried the recessive allele.

Explanation:

The carrier is the individual that has the affected allele or mutation but does not express the trait, or might express it in different levels. Although, as the person carries the mutation, she or he might transmit the genetic mutation associated with a disease to the progeny.  In general, these diseases are inherited as recessive traits.

So, in the exposed example we know that:

  • hemophilia is a sex-linked disorder
  • hemophilia is determined by a recessive allele on the X chromosome.
  • Irene is a carrier.
  • Her husband is not a carrier.
  • Her children Waldemar and Henry have hemophilia.

If Irene is a carrier, this means that she is heterozygous and that her genotype is X⁺X⁻ (Being the symbol + the dominant allele, and - the recessive one for that expresses the trait)

The fact that Irene´s husband is not a carrier means that his genotype is X⁺Y

Their boys Waldemar and Henry have hemophilia, so both their genotypes are X⁻Y

The best evidence to prove that Irene was heterozygous for hemophilia is that Alice carried the recessive allele.

  • Alice is Irene´s Mother, and she is a carrier as well. Irene´s father, Louis, is not a carrier, so she could have inherited a dominant allele from her father and a recessive allele from her mother, X⁺X⁻, or she could have inherited two dominant alleles from both her parents X⁺X⁺. This is not proof enough of Irene being heterozygous.
  • The fact that Alexandra, Irene´s sister, was also a carrier does not say anything about Irene´s genotype, because they could both share the same genotype or not. This is not proof of Irene being heterozygous.
  • Frederick (her brother) was hemophilic.  He received a recessive allele from Alice, but this does not say anything about Irene´s genotype.
  • The fact that Waldemar (her son) was hemophilic, is the best evidence to prove that Irene was heterozygous for hemophilia. Walderman received the Y chromosome from his father and an X chromosome from his mother. The X chromosome that he received from his mother carried the recessive allele for the trait, and this is why he had hemophilia. This means that there is no best evidence for Irene´s genotype than her son´s genotype.

V125BC [204]
There are choices for this question namely:

A) changing the relative evaluation of attributes
B) associating the product with a special group, event or cause
C) changing the basic motivational function
D) changing consumer beliefs about competitor brands
<span>E) changing consumers' subjective norms
</span>
The correct answer is "associated the product with a special group, event, or cause". The product here is diet coke and the company associates diet coke with a special group (people who are trying to lose weight by cutting out carbohydrates), event/cause (the association of diet coke with American Heart Association). This will entice buyers, especially those who are trying to lose weight, to buy their product.

Sweet yellow tomatoes with a pear shape bring a high price per basket to growers. Pear shape, yellow color, and terminal flower
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer and Explanation: The farmer has a pure-breeding line of tomato means the farmer has a tomato with genotype FFrrtt while the other line of tomato has genotype ffRRTT.

The cross between these lines gives a F1 generation of heterozygous full, red and axial or FfRrTt.

With an individual of F1 crosses with another individual of F1, the Punnet Square will be:

FfRrTt x FfRrTt

1) Dividing each characteristics, for simplicity:

          F         f

F       FF       Ff

f        Ff        ff

          R       r

R       RR     Rr

r        Rr      rr

         T      t

T       TT   Tt

t        Tt     tt

Analysing Punnett squares, we notice the line wanted (ffrrTT) will be produced, when an individual of F1 generation cross with another individual with the same generation.

Describe two practical uses for an artificial chemical which behaves like chlorophyll.
natita [175]
Any substance that has enhanced reactivity, or altered properties in the presence of light is said to be photoreactive. For example, a photovoltaic cell enables sunlight to be processed into usable electricity by exciting outer shell electrons on some metals. Photoreactive substances can either be natural, such as chlorophyll, or entirely man-made in the case of a photovoltaic cell.
