<span>Let a_0 = 100, the first payment. Every subsequent payment is the prior payment, times 1.1. In order to represent that, let a_n be the term in question. The term before it is a_n-1. So a_n = 1.1 * a_n-1. This means that a_19 = 1.1*a_18, a_18 = 1.1*a_17, etc. To find the sum of your first 20 payments, this sum is equal to a_0+a_1+a_2+...+a_19. a_1 = 1.1*a_0, so a_2 = 1.1*(1.1*a_0) = (1.1)^2 * a_0, a_3 = 1.1*a_2 = (1.1)^3*a_3, and so on. So the sum can be reduced to S = a_0 * (1+ 1.1 + 1.1^2 + 1.1^3 + ... + 1.1^19) which is approximately $5727.50</span>

The random variable X, representing the number of cherries in a cherry puff, has the following probability distribution:x: 4 - 5
marta [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given is the probability distribution of a random variable X

X 4 5 6 7 Total

P 0.2 0.4 0.3 0.1 1

x*p 0.8 2 1.8 0.7 5.3

x^2*p 3.2 10 10.8 4.9 28.9

a) E(X) = Mean of X = sum of xp = 5.3

Var(x) = 28.9-5.3^2=0.81

Std dev = square root of variance = 0.9

------------------------------------

b) For sample mean we have

Mean = 5.3

Variance = var(x)/n = \frac{0.81}{{36} } \\=0.0225

c) P(\bar X

A bug was running along a number line at a speed of 11 units per minute. It never changed its direction. If at 7:15 pm it was at
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

155 Units

Step-by-step explanation:

Rate of Bug (given) = 11 units PER MINUTE

It never changed direction, so it was going in positive direction (assume).

In 7:15 pm (evening), it was at Point 100,

We want the point at which it was at 7:20 pm.

7:20pm - 7:15pm = 5 minutes

So, time passed 5 minutes. It's rate is 11 units PER MINUTE, so in 5 mins:

11 * 5 = 55 units

<em>Assuming he is going in positive direction</em>, the bug will be at:

100 + 55 = <u>155 Units</u>
