Answer:

  • P(face card)=3/13
  • P(seven of hearts)=1/52
  • P(no black)=1/2
  • P(king)=1/13
  • P(diamond)=1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that there are a total 52 cards out of which:

There are 12 face cards ( 4 kings,4 queen and 4 jack)

There are 4 pack:

13- spades     13- club     13-heart     13-diamond.

Out of which there are 26 black cards( 13 spade and 13 club)

There are 26 red cards( 13 heart and 13 diamond)

Now , we are asked to find the probability of each of the following,

1)

P(face card)

Since there are total 12 face cards out of 52 playing cards.

Hence,

P(face card)=12/52=3/13

2)

P( seven of hearts)

As there is just 1 seven of heart out pf 52 cards.

Hence,  P(seven of hearts)=1/52

3)

P(no black)

This means we are asked to find the probability of red card.

As there are 26 red card.

Hence P(no black)=26/52=1/2

4)

P(king)

As there are 4 kings out of 52 cards.

Hence, P(king)=4/52=1/13

5)

P(diamond)

As there are total 13 cards of diamond.

Hence,

P(diamond)=13/52=1/4

The table shows ordered pairs of the function y = 16 + 0.5x . Which ordered pair could be the missing values represented by (x,
lawyer [7]

The correct answer is:

(8, 20).

Explanation:

We can substitute the values for x in the equation and see if they equal y:

y=16+0.5(0) = 16+0 = 16 ≠ 18. This is not the correct option.

y=16+0.5(5) = 16+2.5 = 18.5 ≠ 19.5. This is not the correct option.

y=16+0.5(8) = 16+4 = 20. This is the correct option.

Raymond bought a car for $40,000. He took a 20,000 loan from a bank at an interest rate of 15% per year for a 5 - year period. W
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

$35,000

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount that would be repaid = amount borrowed + interest earned on loan

interest earned on deposit can be determined by determining the simple interest

Simple interest = principal x time x interest rate

principal = the amount deposited = 20,000

Time = the duration of the deposit =5

interest rate = the percentage on deposit that would be earned = 15

20,000 x 5 x 0.15 = $15,000

total = 20,000 + 15,000 = $35,000

Squaring both sides of an equation is irreversible. Is Cubing both sides of an equation reversible? Provide numerical examples t
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

Cubing both sides of an equation is reversible.

Step-by-step explanation:

Squaring both sides of an equation is irreversible, because the square power of negative number gives a positive result, but you can't have a negative base with a positive number, given that the square root of a negative number doesn't exist for real numbers.

In case of cubic powers, this action is reversible, because the cubic root of a negative number is also a negative number. For example

\sqrt[3]{x} =-1

We cube both sides

(\sqrt[3]{x} )^{3} =(-1)^{3} \\x=-1

If we want to reverse the equation to the beginning, we can do it, using a cubic root on each side

\sqrt[3]{x}=\sqrt[3]{-1} \\\sqrt[3]{x}=-1

There you have it, cubing both sides of an equation is reversible.
