Given

Weight of the block A, Wa = 20 lb, weight of block B Wb = 50 lb. Applied force to block A, P = 6lb, coefficient of static friction µs = 0.4, coefficient of kinetic friction µk = 0.3. If a force P is applied to the body, no relative motion will take place until the applied force is equal to the force of friction Ff, which is acting opposite to the direction of motion. Magnitude of static force of friction between block A and block B, Fs = µsN, where N is reaction force acting on block A. Now, resolve the forces Fx = max. P = (mA + mB)a,

6 = (20 / 32.2 + 50 / 32.2)a

2.173a = 6

A = 2.76 ft/s^2

To check slipping occurs between block A and block B, consider block A:

P – Ff = mAaA

6 – Ff = 1.71

Ff = 4.29 lb

And also,

N = wA. We know static friction,

Fs = µsN

Fs = 0.4 x 20

Fs = 8lb

Frictional force is less than static friction. Ff < Fs

<span>Therefors, acceleration of block A, aA = 2.76 ft/s^2, acceleration of block B aB = 2.76 ft/s^2</span>

A bicycle tire rotates 25 times in 10 seconds. What is it’s average angular velocity?
ryzh [129]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

<u>Angular velocity of bicycle tire is 15.78 radians per second.</u>

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

Angular velocity is the change in angular speed of an object with respect to time take for change or it is the rate of change of circular motion.

In the given question the circular displacement is 25 rounds around a central point.

The angular displacement is measured in degrees and 1 round is equal to 360 degrees.

25 Rounds = 25 × 360 = 9000 degrees.

Angular velocity = angular displacement /time = 9000/10 = 900 degrees per second.

In SI,angular velocity is represented in radians per second.

So, 1 radian = 57.29 degrees

Angular velocity = 15.78 radians per second

A driver's foot presses with a steady force of 20N on a pedal in a car as shown.
azamat

Answer:

160N

Explanation:

Moments must be conserved - so.

20 * 0.4 = F * 0.05

F=\frac{20*0.4}{0.05} = 160

A sports car accelerates from 0 to 30 mph in 1.5 s. How long would it take to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph, assuming the power of
Crank

Answer:

6 s

Explanation:

given,

Sports car accelerate from 0 to 30 mph in 1.5 s

time taken to accelerate  0 to 60 mph = ?

The power of the engine is independent of velocity and neglecting friction

power =

P = constant

the kinetic energy for 60 mph larger than this of 30 mph

 = \dfrac{\dfrac{1}{2}mv_1^2}{\dfrac{1}{2}mv_2^2}

 = \dfrac{v_1^2}{v_2^2}

 = \dfrac{60^2}{30^2}

 = 4

gain in kinetic energy  = P x t

time = 4 x 1.5

       = 6 s
