the table shows the sales of admission tickets to a science museum. A table labeled Science Museum Admission Revenue. It contain

s a row for Tickets Sold with the amounts 128, 264, 308, 514, 520, 650, 722, and a row for Sales with the amounts 1088, 2244, 2618, 4369, 5525, and 6137. The equation y = 9.75x represents the number of dollars, y, earned by an art museum for selling x tickets. Which statements about the costs of the admission tickets at the museums are true? Select each correct answer. It costs $9.75 per ticket for admission to the art museum. It costs $8.75 per ticket for admission to the science museum. Art museum tickets are more expensive than science museum tickets. Given the same number of ticket sales, the science museum earns more revenue. 1 2 3 4 5

Answer: It costs $9.75 per ticket for admission to the art museum.

Art museum tickets are more expensive than science museum tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given table of Science Museum Admission Revenue, we can see that the sales amount by selling 128 tickets = $1088

Therefore, the cost of each ticket for science museum =\frac{1088}{128}=\$8.5

∴ It costs $8.5 (not 8.75) per ticket for admission to the science museum.

Also,The equation y = 9.75x represents the number of dollars, y, earned by an art museum for selling x tickets.

At x=1, y=9.75

∴ It costs $9.75 per ticket for admission to the art museum.

Clearly, 9.75>8.5

∴ Art museum tickets are more expensive than science museum tickets.

If the number of ticket sales will be same then art museum will earn more revenue.

Explain and discuss why engineers usually want the minimum variance unbiased estimator achieved by using the MVUE in making engi
Triss [41]

Answer:

Since the name indicates Minimum Variance Unbiased Estimator-first of all it is a parameter estimator. Secondly, it is an unbiased estimator so that the sample is carried out randomly. I.e. whenever a sample is chosen, there is no personal bias.

Then we can consider more than one sample-based unbiased estimator but sometimes they can vary in variation. But we have always intended to select an estimator that has minimal variance.

Therefore if the unbiased estimator has minimal variation between all unbiased class estimators then it is known as a good estimator.

The advantage of MVUE is that it is impartial and has a minimal variance of all unbiased estimators amongst the groups.

At times we get an estimator such as MLE which is not unbiased because the sample can be personally biased. Now let us assume an instructor needs to find the lowest marks in a physics class. Presume an instructor picks a sample and interprets the lowest possible marks.

Again the mistake could be that the instructor may choose his favorite sample learners because the sample might not be selected randomly. Therefore it is important to select an unbiased estimate with a minimum variance.

vegetable ghee is stored in the cylindrical vessel of internal radius 1.4m height 1.5m. if it is transferred into the rectangula
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

5,598 cans are required to empty the vessel

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of a cylinder of radius r and height h is:

V = \pi r^2h

The volume of a box of dimensions X, Y, and Z is:

V=X.Y.Z

A cylinder of r=1.4 m and height h=1.5 is used to store vegetable ghee. It contains a volume of:

V_1 = \pi 1.4^2*1.5

V_1=9.236\ m^3

Converting to cubic cm:

V_1=9.236*1,000,000\ cm^3

V_1=9,236,282\ cm^3

The volume of each rectangular tin can is:

V_2=33*10*5=1,650\ cm^3

V_2=1,650\ cm^3

The number of cans required to empty the vessel is:

V_1/V_2=9,236,282/1,650 = 5,598

5,598 cans are required to empty the vessel
