Suppose you are asked to find the area of a rectangle that is 2.1-cm wide by 5.6-cm long. Your calculator answer would be 11.76

cm2. Now suppose you are asked to enter the answer to two significant figures. (Note that if you do not round your answer to two significant figures, your answer will fall outside of the grading tolerance and be graded as incorrect.)
What value should you use as the area of the base when calculating the answer to Part C?

If I’m understanding the question then 11.76cm^2 in two sig figs is 12cm^2. I don’t see a part c to this question though so if I’m not giving you the answer you need please advise and I will answer what you need! Thank you!!

Area can be calculated by multiply these two numbers 2.1-cm and 5.6 –cm and got 11.76 cm 2.

Further Explanations:

Area Calculation

Area of square:

Area can be calculated by multiplying the base and height it depends on you that which area is you want to calculate. If you want to calculate the AREA OF SQUARE

That formula for square is side of square is multiplied by side of the sane square.

Area of Triangle:

If you want to calculate the area of the rectangle than you have to use he formula of ½ * Base* Height.

Area of rectangle:

If you want to calculate the area of rectangle than area of rectangle can be calculated by formula as base * Height. Because rectangle ha two side equals

Two significant figures:

The condition of the question is this that there should be only two significant numbers means after the do of the number there are only two digits.If you have more than digits than the rules of  significant digits should be applied on them.

Answer Details:

A helicopter, starting from rest, accelerates straight up from the roof of a hospital. The lifting force does work in raising th
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

24,267.6 watts

Explanation:

from the question we are given the following:

mass (m) = 810 kg

final velocity (v) = 7 m/s

initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s

time (t) = 3.5 s

final height (h₁) = 8.2 m

initial height (h₀) = 0 m

acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s^{2}

find the power

power = \frac{work done}[time}

and

work done = change in kinetic energy (K.E) + change in potential energy (P.E)

work done = (0.5 mv^{2} - 0.5 mu^{2} ) + ( mgh₁ - mgh₀)

since u and h₀ are zero the work done now becomes

work done = (0.5 mv^{2}) + ( mgh₁ )

work done = (0.5 x 810 x 7^{2}) + ( 810 x 9.8 x 8.2)

work done = 84, 936.6 joules

recall that power = \frac{work done}[time}

power = \frac{84,936.6}[3.5}

power = 24,267.6 watts

Determine the magnitude and sense (direction) of the current in the 500-latex: \omega ω resistor when i = 30 ma.
VARVARA [1.3K]

Complete Question:

Check the circuit in the file attached to this solution

Answer:

Total current = 0.056 A(From left to right)

Explanation:

Let the current in loop 1 be I₁ and the current in loop 2 be I₂

Applying KVL to loop 1

30 - (I₁ - I₂)500 + I₂R + 15 = 0

45 - 500I₁ - 500I₂ + RI₂ = 0

I₁ = 30mA = 0.03 A

45 - 500(0.03) - 500I₂ + RI₂ = 0

30 -500I₂ + RI₂ = 0...............(1)

Applying kvl to loop 2

-RI₂ - 15 + 10 - 400I₁ = 0

-RI₂ = 5 + 400*0.03

RI₂ = -17 ................(2)

Put equation (2) into (1)

30 -500I₂ -17 = 0

-500I₂ = 13

I₂ = -13/500

I₂ = -0.026 A

The total current in the 500 ohms resistor = I₁ - I₂ = 0.03+0.026

Total current = 0.056 A

The current will flow from left to right

A balloon drifts 140m toward the west in 45s ; then the wind suddenly changes and the balloon flies 90m toward the east in the n
Bogdan [553]

Answer: 140 m

Explanation:

Let's begin by stating clear that motiont is the change of position of a body at a certain time. So, during this motion, the balloon will have a trajectory and a displacement, being both different:

The<u> trajectory</u> is <u>the path followed by the body, the distance it travelled</u> (is a scalar quantity).

The displacement is <u>the distance in a straight line between the initial and final position</u> (is a vector quantity).

So, according to this, the distance the balloon traveled during the first 45 s (its trajectory) is 140 m.

But, if we talk about displacement, we have to draw a straight line between the initial position of the balloon (point 0) to its final position (point 90 m).  Being its displacement 95 m.

Two people are talking at a distance of 3.0 m from where you are and you measure the sound intensity as 1.1 × 10-7 W/m2. Another
ioda

Answer:

6.1875\times 10^{-8}

Explanation:

Assuming uniform spread of sound with no significant reflections or absorption. We know that sound intensity varies I=\frac {k}{r^{2}} where r is the distance

Since intensity is given then when at 3 m

1.1\times 10^{-7}= \frac {k}{3^{2}}

k=3^{2}\times 1.1\times 10^{-7}= 9.9\times 10^{-7}

Since we have the constant then at 4m

Intensity, I= \frac {9.9\times 10^{-7}}{4^{2}}=6.1875\times 10^{-8}

When listening to tuning forks of frequency 256 Hz and 260 Hz, one hears the following number of beats per second. (A) 0 (B) 2 (
Degger [83]

Answer:

(C) 4 beats per second.

Explanation:

As we know that the no of beats can be calculated as.

No. of beats is equal to difference in the tuning forks frequencies.

So,

n= \nu _{1}- \nu _{2}.

Substitute the values of frequencies of 2 tuning forks in the above equation.

n=(260 Hz-256 Hz)\\n=4

Therefore the number of beats per second will be hear by the observer is 4 beats per second.
